I do think there are "must-have" attires (for me) of guys we've already had...
- Stone Cold: jean-shorts and waistcoat
- HBK: Wrestlemania 12
- Hogan: Hulk Still Rules
- Undertaker: purple gloves, RA era
- Kane: bald/maskless look
- Foley: Cactus Jack, all-brown Mankind
- Flair: Royal Rumble '92
- Edge: RA era
- Orton: Viper or Legend Killer
- Scott Hall, Kevin Nash: Outsiders
Cena could do with a new blue jorts figure too (or even an updated version of his first UE figure).

The appeal in the Ultimate Edition line to me is the articulation for posing (which is ideal for charismatic technical wrestlers like Shawn Michaels and Randy Savage) and the high level of deco (which is perfect for characters like the Ultimate Warrior and Asuka).
Even for relatively plain-looking wrestlers like Roddy Piper, it's incredible just to have a version that can be posed doing a sleeper hold.
I'm finding myself converting past Elites to UE figures for that very reason.

I don't like how the upper torso on the Ultimates used, make them so jacked. Some of the mold picked doesn't make the figures looks good.
Ex. Jeff Hardy, Eddie Guerrero, Undertaker

I don’t like them, especially the two articulation. And I’m not a fan of the pinless knees. They’re so stiff and have worse range of motion.

The line is okay but how many Ultimate Warrior's and Hulk Hogan's are they going to make.
The only I have in my collection are

I know that the stupid ass drop down hips need to go asap that was the dumbest decision ever to put them on the figures it ruined the articulation more than it's helped and I thought that the butterfly joints were bad but these are even worse than that
It completely ruined both razors Bret and everything else after they was added

I like ultimates because they are fresh, elites are 10+ year old figures.
I absolutely hated u.e torsos at first and the double elbows with pins everywhere, but i really like the newer u.e torsos and the pinless elbows. I would like to see mattels all together pinless soon.
I agree that they make a lot of torsos too big now , amazon hbk comes to mind but i think they are getting better

I haven't been a fan of Ultimates from day one. They look bad, for starters. And then they have less torso movement than Elites.

Read below. People are now collecting ultimates only. So i imagine the people who were buying elites a year ago who arent buying them now....might be hurting the elite line. I think the ultimates should have stayed to special moments. But just like defining moments (before it flopped) mattel are now including people and attires in the line that dont merit being there. Defining moments nakamura...before he debuted rings a bell. He hadnt even had a moment at that point. Ultimates are better, but they make the elites seem lesser. So ill never buy a hogan elite, bret elite, warrior elite, hbk elite, kane elite, undertaker elite, andre elite and so on, while there is a more ultimates alternative. Which makes me not buy the elites. Its hard to explain, but its fairly obvious its hurting the elite line. Honestly I tend to mix/match the figures and their accessories, and at the end of the day - Elite vs. Ultimate doesn't make THAT big of a difference to me.... as long as they have nice detail, cool head sculpts, and unique accessories, I will add them to my collection. The articulation isn't that important to me.... I'll still buy a good Elite - if I can find it! 
Mate, I just wanted to like and quote this post because that pic looks fan-****ing-tastic! Simple and yet a great way to show off an evolution of looks. To me, a collection should be enjoyed and I like the way you're able to enjoy it. Thank you for sharing!

i enjoy them but dont care for drop down hips i have actually bought probably 40 custom guys that dont have a hope of getting an ultimate.

When they get the right torso, Ultimates look fantastic (even better than Elites). But when they get the wrong one (eg. Eddie), it can look pretty poor to downright awful. I saw someone used an Uso UE torso on Eddie, and it looked great... soooo much better. It'll be interesting to see how the Kurt Angle UE comes out... hopefully they'll change that massive torso it was shown with 😬. |

I'd say I'm losing interest overall in wrestling figures because I have most of what I want.
As far as Ultimates go, the increased quality of headsculpts and parts for Elites has made the Ultimates less exciting.
Expanding the line is fine, too, but it means there are more I won't get. At first it was just one here and there, and now it's much more frequent when you add the extra cost involved. I hope they keep it going, though.
