Since I'm a Hogan-only collector - and even then, I'm selective - I was looking at upcoming Hulk stuff, and I wanted to comment on a couple of things. First, I mentioned in another thread how nice it would have been if each figure came with a belt. I'm resisting buying an Undisputed Championship belt on eBay, just 'cuz I'm sick of spending money on customizing. For Hogan's sake, Mattel powers that be, let's get a blasted Ultimate 2002 Hulk Still Rules figure with the proper shirt, bandana, tights, sunglasses, and correct size Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Title belt. I personally don't care about the boas, but if they're included, that's fine. Secondly, take a look at what I noticed. Target has these two shirts for the Hulk Still Rules figure:  Wrestling Figure Database has these shirts for that figure:  I wonder which one we'll be getting in the set. I for one hope it's the yellow HULKAMANIA. What are your thoughts on this set? I still think the droopy-eyed tongue-dragging hound dog head is hilarious. It is ridiculous, and everyone I've shown it to thinks it's his tongue. Anyway, as I said, since I'm such a selective collector, it's been a while since I got any Hogan figures, and I figured I'd post my thoughts on the upcoming set. |

I love the set - but it could have been even better:
1. Swap the blue trunks Hogan with either an updated WM3 or another yellow trunks figure. Yes, I know the blue trunks is "something different" - it just DOES NOT BELONG in this set. This should be Hulk's 3 most iconic looks/attires from the 3 main periods of his career.
2. Include a red shirt/bold yellow Hulkamania shirt with the Hulk Still Rules figure... it's what he wore most during this period
3. Include title belts with the Hollywood and HSR figures...

This set was an instant pre-order for me, didn't even have to think about it!
I think Hollywood looks great - I truly don't understand all the backlash about the "lightning bolts". I think they look fine.
I'm really excited to add these three to my extensive Hogan collection!

The 2002 look definitely needs an Ultimate, with a more appropriate headscan for that era, as well as a kneebrace. Same goes for his 2005 look.

Yes, I like the set too, but it could have been much, much better. As for your points, they’re solid. I’ll add: 1. Agreed. That attire color combo for the ‘80s figure, while new, isn’t iconic. (Aside: And isn’t it interesting it’s the exact same boots and knee pads color combo for the Legends 22 chase variant? Just a simple way to get a variant. Kind of lame.) 2. Agreed. That shirt would have been better. 3. Yes for belts! Also, a new head for Hulk Still Rules would have been much appreciated, and Hound Dog Hogan’s “tongue” needs to be altered big-time. |

I think Hollywood looks the best of the three. I’ve read criticism regarding the lightning bolts too, but that isn’t too vital for me to be honest. |

The Database picture ripped the pic from Target when it first went up on their site. Target then updated the pic a few days later, to the present offering, reflecting 2 different shirts for the final face run.

I wish Hogan’s boas were a feathery material. The plastic doesn’t allow any movement and covers way too much of the torso, to the point that you can’t see a title around Hogan’s waist.

I like the bandana in the mouth head, but ill be swapping it onto a red and yellow Hogan for sure. It'll look better IMO

I feel like he wore the yellow Hulkamania shirt during his 2003 run from Feb-May. 2002 he primarily wore the red Hulkamania is still running wild shirt until towards the end of the run when he started wearing the tie dye Hulkamania shirt. He never wore Hulk Still Rules on TV. 2003 return he wore the Hulkamania is still running wild shirt and then the what cha gonna do with brother on the back shirt until he became Mr America. |

It's an easy enough custom, but this long in the game I don't understand why Mattel has so many whiffs on attire accuracy. We're told time and time again that the team working on the line are fans yet we see stuff like this happen. It's minor to them or perhaps not even on their radar, but as paying customers who are only paying higher and higher MSRP's for these figures, you'd think we wouldn't have to be asking for corrections to things like that. And don't get mad at us for asking or for pointing these things out. Show us that you listen and strive to do better. |
