At this point I’d say let hin lose it at the Royal Rumble and have him win the Rumble as No. 1 breaking his own record. This way you would have a serious competitor with big momentum for Seth at Mania. Let’s face it, GUNTHER is the obvious opponent for the World Champion at Mania.

I’d have em drop the IC Title the next night on RAW to LA Knight, have Seth cost Gunther the match. |

I dont think they go this route but dethroning Gunther would do womders for Jey Usos solo push.

Could The Miz be the one?
Actually it would make alot of sense:
- The next champion should be a top level champion to cement the newly achieved prestige of the title. The Miz would definitely be a valuable champion.
- Gunther should lose the title cleanly, again for the value of the reign and the title. However a clean loss against someone like Ivar or Bronson may hurt Gunthers momentum as they are not on level with Gunther. A babyface Miz however could be something fresh, yet established. A loss against Miz doesn’t hurt Gunthers momentum if done right.
- starting the feud now and have it reach its peak at the Rumble could be the way to get Gunther out of the reign to go for higher titles.

Gunther just said that he „outgrew“ the Intercontinental championship and is aiming for higher.
“I think it’s quite obvious that I outgrew the Intercontinental Championship already, I am ready to make that next step.“
Weird comment for a reigning champion.

When Brock beats him in 12 seconds at Mania 40. I know you're probably joking and I don't want to overreact but if they hyped up Lesnar vs Gunther for Mania and it ended up a squash I'd probably consider it the worst booking decision ever. |

Definitely someone who can reach the upper midcard. However I would prefer him and Vinci aim fir the tag team titles. I hate it when they put 2 single wrestlers together and give them the titles. A good tag team division is very enjoyable. In my eyes the big question is not who is going to dethrone Gunther but more how they will use the title afterwards. I would love to see the Intercontinental title stay in the upper midcard picture. |

What if Brock returns to the midcard and challenges Gunther for the IC title? I think this is what happens. We’re constantly fed the line that Brock is the conquerer and the one to threaten streaks, title reigns, etc. In storyline I’m guessing Brock will spot dethroning the unstoppable Gunther as another accolade. |

Is he not working his way at this point into a belt Vs belt against Rollins at Mania… I just don’t know why you wouldn’t give him a Mania world title shot if he gets into March still champ to which v hard to see anyone beating him.
And I suppose Rollins beats him and that’s the way. Either way works but actually could turn the wick up on Gunther more if he did lose it to Seth because there’d be more fire to go after him again as he took his belt after this long reign.
That’s my bet. Won a tenner off a free bet today.. on a hot one.. not peen.
