Was talking about this yesterday in work with one of the lads...he went with Hall but for me it was Flair in 1991.
In 1991 it was difficult for me to see WCW here in Ireland but I knew Flair from PWI magazine & my mind was blown as an 11 year old to see Heenan with that belt on TV.
I remember being crazy excited. Other jumps got me revved up too btw but looking back? This was the one.
What about yourselves?

Probably Ultimate Warrior showing up on WWF tv. Me and my friends all yelled ‘That’s Dingo!’. We knew him from TX.

Flair and the big gold for sure! It was more the WCW side of things that shocked me in the mid to late 90s. It was like which one of Hogan's buddies was going to show up next  The big one for me had to be The Ultimate Warrior showing up in WCW! I legit never thought we would see him wrestle again, I know his run was a bust and this will sound crazy, but I was more excited for him showing up in WCW than I was Bret Hart! In hindsight with how bad they botched Bret Hart in that opening year, I probably should have had my expectations a great deal lower! The Radicalz was a pretty big one too, seeing them sitting in the crowd. X-Pac showing up on RAW and dishing out that what felt like a shoot promo was massive too. |

I remember being utterly shocked to hear that the following week on Superstars of Wrestling that the Legion of Doom would be debuting. Vince said it so casually at the end of an episode like, "next week we get have the debut of the Legion of Doom" and it was pretty much that.
Flair jumping was huge too, I remember Bobby Heenan showing up on Challenge with the big gold belt and Monsoon and Anvil looking at it in shock.
Hall showing up in WCW was shocking cause I didn't know anything about him leaving the WWF at the time. I wasn't on the internet so I had no idea he signed with WCW. Same with Nash a few weeks later.

Hall didn't surprise me too much because I hadn't seen him on TV forever and I hadn't seen his last IYH appearance. I was savvy enough then to realise once you hadn't been on TV for a while you had probably left. But Bobby Heenan & the big gold blew my socks off.
LOD was more of an "oh cool" moment for me as I hadn't really seen that much of them in the magazines but I knew them and liked their look. But because my exposure to them was still through that? I always call them The Road Warriors rather than LOD.
The Radicalz is another good shout. I had no clue they were going to bolt and I was "whoa" its Revolution

Hall and Nash were the big ones for me. Back then on Raw, it was only an hour, so it was common for stars to miss episodes of Raw and still be with the company. Also, I didn't have the internet in my house at that time, so I was unaware they were no longer with WWF. I was really surprised when Hall showed up on Nitro, especially from the crowd, that made it more realistic with the storyline they were telling. Davey Boy showing up in WCW in 1993 was pretty surprising. I know he hadn't been in the WWF for a bit, but I just thought he was injured. Ah, the good ol' days before the internet came along and ruined everything...

Definitely Flair going to the WWF. Like it was said, when Bobby showed that belt on tv and mentioned the name "Ric Flair", I just got goosebumps typing that. After all these years I still do. That was one of the biggest moments ever that wasn't ruined by anything.

That was one of the biggest moments ever that wasn't ruined by anything. for sure. when he came out and started messing with piper and even was saying crap to savage in the booth i still get goosebumps watching that. all rthose years of the mags saying flair was the best we finally were going to see him vs some of wwf's best. |

When the Big Boss Man made his WWF debut. At the time, he was Big Bubba Rogers & was the UWF champion. Later on that Saturday, the UWF showed Dr. Death Steve Williams beating Big Bubba Rogers for the title.
