I think there is a good chance this set gets much cheaper.
Oversaturation on Rock figures -- even if this one is totally unique. Yes, it serves collectors, yes I want it. But for someone who is on WWE TV once in a blue moon, he sure is in Mattel lines a lot.
I have to be honest and say anyone who is younger than 60 years old probably has never seen Peter Maivia outside of a few photos when he was put into the HOF or when they talk Samoan lineage. Cool figure, well done. I don't know the market for that character.
Rocky Johnson is a little more relevant but still -- I don't know the market for a Rocky Johnson figure. I think those who wanted that hole in their collections filled got the Collector's Elite a year or two ago when it was getting cheap.
$70 I get is fair for a premium Elite 3-pack but I just don't know if this one merits the price.

This is a very distinctive look that might get people to buy the set just for him. As people have stated, not a ton of people have ever seen a single Rocky Johnson or Peter Maivia match. For some people, that Rock is the selling point of this set. For me, though, it's the other two, especially with how much the CS Peter Maivia goes on Secondary. I just hope the skintone on that Rocky is better than the last one. |
