This line is just becoming more of a joke.
1st wave is bad besides Austin. Let's make hall 5'10. Now let's get rid of a awesome rey mysterio figure. But I'm sure their buddies will get samples of.

Let’s hope series 3 can turn the nose up on this line. Not off to the best start in my opinion. Series three needs someone like DDP in jeans, Scott Steiner, someone first time in the line like Buff Bagwell. Something big is needed.
Give us that crowdfund warrior with the duster, something big and heavy hitter
EDIT: just remember series 3 is Harlem Heat and a chase variant version, with BAF disciple. Definitely better. Maybe we get attitude eras Dudley’s

Wasn't Rey supposed to be unmasked in MNW series 2? Steve just showed Rey in elite form from the nitro stage fund.  That UE torso would have been great for a Chavo and angel garza shame  Why must we continue to be punished for this crowdfund failing?!?! Seriously tho, this sucks. I wanted unmasked rey so bad. |

While I do want an unmasked Rey, honestly I thought the prototype's likeness was very mediocre, which for me softens the blow. There's little doubt in my mind though that WWE will be the one who got cold feet here, in this case I doubt Mattel or Rey is to blame.
Hopefully if WWE allows an Unmasked Rey in future, they can redo the head for a better likeness (and WITHOUT molded horns please).
Also I agree with what's been said that Mattel/WWE (since WWE are the ones who approach/sign the talent) need to up their game with the Monday Night Wars lineups. Disciple and Ref Teddy are great picks, Harlem Heat is OK (though new headscans would have been a nice addition, or a BAF Sister Sherri!) but we badly need more "First Time" and "Deep Dive" names, enough with the A-listers and repaints. The WCW/NWO era roster in particular has been lacking depth for a long time.

I think I might be the only one happy about the change of Rey figure. I had no interest in unmasked Rey, and I really wanted that WCW debut gear - so it's worked out for at least one person in the world, I guess.  To be honest, I was surprised that WWE and/or Rey was going to allow them to do an unmasked version. They've both done everything in their power to make it seem like it never even happened. |

I’m totally fine with this being a mostly repaint line with it being a Walmart Exclusive. Maybe this will be a more fan channel-like exclusive for Filthy Animals Rey. I collect the Legend/Flashback figures and this Rey DOES appeal to me. It’s like. If you want Rey in a cool uniform or a debut look, He NEEDS to be elite style because you want to pose him like he’s jumping or something, IIRC they released this as a basic last time, and a basic doesn’t do Rey justice. |

Two people lol After having a day to let the change sink in, I think I'm more likely to get this Rey than the Filthy Animals Rey. That may be what Mattel is banking on at the end of the day. I just want 1 definitive WCW Rey and while I'm still going to hold out hope for a Greatest Hit's Phantom Rey with a newly sculpted head, this one actually fits what I need more tbh. It sucks that such a unique figure got cut for it; but now I'm holding out hope for an elite white singlet Big Poppa Pump to be added to this line along with a good DDP (in jeans). |

The line was the dead in the water when everyone knew it would only be repaints with no new "first time in the line" talent getting made. Now with Scott Hall being too short, Undertaker dieting, Rey being changed and with big hands again with this line looking bad so far. Not to mention Mattel again painting Triple H's tights over the skin mold is getting irritating. 😔

Repaint wave is a little pessimistic. It's featured new head sculpts for Luger, Taker, Hogan, Nash, Fake Diesel, Teddy Long....
And either upper or lower body sculpts for Teddy Long ref (although it is split between this wave and the SSlam one) and the Disciple...
So there is at least some new tooling despite clearly a lower budget than even PPV series'. Although they could have looked at sculpting new heads for at least 1 first time in the line figure per wave and using pre-existing body parts because that is essentially what they've done in each wave anyway but for guys who've had multiple figures released already.
Keep the budget low by choosing less deco on other figures like they've done for Nash, Austin, Hogan.... but at least use this as an opportunity to give us never before had wrestlers FFS....

I do think the Nitro debut Rey needs made. Just sucks it’s at the expense of the unmasked Rey.

I don't know why people are down on the entire series...Every figure so far has been good (although Hall was a bit of a let down). It's just a shame that I'll never be able to buy them here in Canada.

The placement of the Filthy Animals Rey seemed odd to me from the get-go based on the Monday Night Wars timeline. I hope it comes out down the line though.
