Did the well run dry already that they need to do a deep cut of bob cardona? No offense to the man himself or his contributions but in fig form is this a profitable choice? Def. Ryder will put it over hard and be slinging signed copies on auctions, his fb page and the merch stand. Im sure it wouldn't be hard to get rid of 3 or 400

It’s a weird one this, I appreciate they are only prototypes but these are in no way ready for the public eye none of his prototypes are ever ready for the public eye
it's weird to me how his "marketing" tactic is to show such crap quality items, which always attract negative responses, then a couple of days later he puts out a "better" image
why is he presenting his company as delivering poor quality right from the design stage??? why not take two more days, and present the "finished" article so you don't attract negativity? does Mitch think playing the fool is a credible business plan?
new year, same hate. 🥱

I love my dad and miss him every day. If I had the chance to do something like this for him, I would. I love my dad but I wouldn't expect other people to want a figure of him though....

I don't know what the rules are on the talent he's already worked with, but I'm sure with existing talent he's had, there are alternate attires or gimmicks that would have been much higher on the pecking order. Johnny B. Badd MoM repaint using actual gold paint this time. late 94/early 95 Bulldog/Allied Powers Bulldog Jean Piere Lafeet Just a few I thought of quick. Wonder how many he's making of Bob, can't be much demand outside maybe a hundred or so MWFP nuts that'll buy it. Oh, and I assume Matt would probably buy 100 himself. It's like what Zombie did, make figures of people that are in some way going to be promoted on their channel to get the name out there for free publicity.

I don’t view any of this as people being “expected” to buy anything. The 10th level niche collectors and sycophants will purchase them without question much like they have with his Major Bendie. Most others will pass on it. It isn’t a bad looking figure but it has no place in my collection (as do most modern day characters). I do wish time and energy were focused on figures that people do want but can anyone fairly fault Mitch for making this deal? He gets free coverage from the MWFP and it’s possible they will go a little easier on him. Maybe Matt can delve a little deeper on a future episode. Did he offer to pay to have the figure made? How many are being produced? Were there any additional agreements made involving oversight, quality control, etc.?

Ok, that Cardona figure would make a great base for a custom Sandman…

Mitch seems like a good guy, but lacks business and marketing sense. From logos and branding to putting out way to early prototype renders.
I hope for his sake the major pod crew is helping him fund that figure.

Mitch seems like a good guy, but lacks business and marketing sense. From logos and branding to putting out way to early prototype renders. I hope for his sake the major pod crew is helping him fund that figure. this is my issue - he's a good bloke clearly, he's just not a business man interested in investing money into his own business
take a look at recent figures from Epic and Figure Collections, Demolition/Powers of Pain and Headbangers/Effy are leagues ahead of G+G's quality
then you look at the reveal we saw for DDP - images of a figure that looks "finished", and not an early prototype
how many of G+G's "reveals" have been too early? either showing prototypes that bear little to no resemblance to the talent or need drastic changes (which usually come about 3 days later) so why doesn't he have the business mindset to think "This is not ready to share yet, let me get it to that point and then put it out there for people to get excited by"??
instead, he'd rather put out inferior quality promotion, and then delete the negative responses from his social media to make it look like it landed positively with the audience. that's not a sound marketing strategy, unless he's going for the gimmick of a likeable goof who tries his hardest?
he just needs to calm down - get his products to look right and be ready for reveals and THEN reveal, and people won't be so negative. although he also needs to move away from the preorder model and just invest all of the profits to date back into making his figures at a decent price point with the quality he's going to need to compete in a market against ZST, Epic and FC to name a few (plus Mattel)

I have never made a figure before so this is just me guessing:
Part of the issue is the factory or factories (plural) that Mitch has used. If he continues using them, we may never see improvements. However, if he starts using a different factory, he might end up with a different host of problems which could potentially damage his reputation in new ways. Honestly, I think if there are factory issues, he should start shopping new factories with some of his side projects and stay consistent with the figures he has been doing. THEN he can migrate to a new factory once they have proven themselves.
Also, I believe it’s time for better sculpts (bodies and faces). Epic and WSW have proven that their figures can mimic Hasbro and stand up next to ZST’s. It’s not that Hasttel’s figures aren’t enjoyable…but we all know they can be better.

Also, weird that the mic is so far off to the side.

Hasttel still makes the best true to retros of anyone in the game in my opinion. Not sure why everyone wants to hate on Mitch. It’s like ZsST or someone sent their minions. I feel like Epic has surpassed him recently. Demolition was close. Powers of Pain feel spot-on. Bulldogs, Onita, and DDP look to fit in seamlessly. The only arguments I can understand are that Demolition heads and DDP’s arms are not “true” to Hasbro. That and soft goods were less common. The level of detail Epic is putting into these feels very on brand with the original Hasbros. WSW/Figure Collections might be up there as well but haven’t released enough to really earn that title yet. Headbangers seemed to be universally loved and Effy has been praised by many. This is proof to me that Mitch can and should up his game.
