They probably don't sweat anymore because they don't eat meat or go to the bar after shows and drink the night away.
The wrestlers in the 80s and 90s would work out hard, eat a lot of meat and protein to remain big, and drink at the bar for hours so they would sweat it all out in the match.
Warlord just said in a shoot that Nikolai Volkoff would add garlic to everything he ate so he would sweat garlic smell in the ring ha ha ha
The new age of wrestlers only care about putting on spots for the fans that love it, going back to their hotel room and going on Twitch and streaming a video game they are playing. No need to drink, cheat on their wives, get in bar fights or work out! Got to do online gaming with a stream for the fans!
I grew up with Eric Young, and I talked to EY when he signed with the WWE back in 2016, and he said, "I asked Triple H, "where are all the rowdy, coked up, ready to party wrestlers at for me to go out with after the show??" And Triple H laughed and said, "they are too busy playing video games."
From what I heard, TNA wrestling from 2002 - 2010 was the last real promotion that did the party scene after their PPVs or TV taping. WWE wrestlers just wanna play those video games! As does AEW guys now with guys like Omega, Cole, Bucks, and such being there.
Just watched this myself. Warlord seems like a good dude. Very down to earth Yeah, I've watched a few of his videos, and he seems like a really nice person. Doesn't ever seem to disparage anyone. Up there with Ax and Smash in terms of likeability.

What this guy said. I watch the current product from time to time, and the art of wrestling is dead. No one really sells anything, they do these unbelievable spots that don’t pin anyone, but a simple move gets them the win. But I’m also glad you mentioned the fans, it’s one of the main things that have ruined the last decade plus of wrestling. They try to take over the show way to much with their chanting. They no longer want to play along, they want to determine everything that happens, that’s hard for any company to plan for. Not to mention the fact that they have killed the old “this is awesome” chant. They chant that shot now when two guys are just starring at each other in the ring. I’ve watched countless matches that were fine, even some that were poor, and they still chant it’s awesome. I hate to say it sometimes, but fans have ruined wrestling as much as those flippy/no selling/high spot wrestlers. The Brain also had it right as well, none of these wrestlers today have a fraction of the charisma/character development that the old wrestlers had. They are all bland/boring. And, is it too much to ask these guys to go to the gym and work out a bit? They all look so tiny, or have very little muscle. They don’t look like they could kick anyones ass. It also doesn’t help that a lot of them are really short, a number of the wrestlers are shorter than the announcers and referees. Also, I just started noticing this, but a lot of the newer wrestlers don’t sweat anymore. Are their matches so easy that they don’t even break a sweat. It’s just weird, visually, that these guys and girls are engaged in a fight but they don’t even sweat. Do all wrestlers today get their sweat glands removed like Bruce Lee did? They probably don't sweat anymore because they don't eat meat or go to the bar after shows and drink the night away. I try watching the new stuff and tune out after 10 minutes. It's so sterile. There's no selling, no art, the fans try to take over the shows. It's just blah What this guy said. It’s just weird, visually, that these guys and girls are engaged in a fight but they don’t even sweat. Do all wrestlers today get their sweat glands removed like Bruce Lee did? This 100% I have said the same things many times about wrestlers not knowing how to tell a story in the ring. And everything just being one hot spot after another with no selling by anyone. It used to be a suicide dive was done occasionally at a PPV now everyone seems to do at least one in every match. And are then immediately moving right to the next hot spot. Finishers don’t finish matches the first time. It now takes being hit multiple times for them to finish a match. And the fans and social media are the worst part of wrestling now. There’s no surprises because it spoiled on social media. And the fans only want the “new internet darling” to win everything including the title as soon as they step out of the curtain onto the stage. And crap on everything if that’s not what happened.

The partying is why guys from 80's died young. there’s goods and bads to it. you could argue alcohol prohibition would save lives, but that doesn’t mean a large segment of the population would be happy about it. overall it’s a fair argument to say that it’s better for wrestlers to be healthy, but there’s truth that if you take the wildness out of the guys outside the ring you lose the wildness inside it too

I’m based in uk so wasn’t familiar with the territory’s.
One thing I do miss about the good old days (and by that I mean anything before and including 2001) was wrestlers switching promotion. I remember Vinnie Vegas and Stunning Steve turning up on WWF tv and being so excited. Even though their histories weren’t revealed, it was still pretty exciting seeing them (and others) going in to a new promotion and the potential new match ups/feuds that potentially could happen. Don’t see myself getting excited about the next performance centre guy turning up on Raw.

Didn't get to live through the 80's WWF Era but still enjoy it from renting shows from Blockbuster and Hollywood video.

i honestly think "NOT KNOWING" was what made things cooler.
you had to wait to next week, there were no easily accessible dirtsheets online.
wrestlers were triple threats: could go, could talk and could entertain
although it was more toxic backstage (and so was every other form of entertainment and sports even) i feel there was more honour back then

Did any of you have video stores that actually participated in the "Free Gift with Rental" promotion they always hyped on the 90s Coliseum Video releases? None of the bigger places did, but Baltic Video on Elizabeth Ave in Linden actually did. They were the best spot for older tapes. We got all kinds of stuff for renting the same 6-7 videos over and over throughout the years including a Ludvig Borga door knocker. I can already feel the jealousy radiating through my phone screen.

The amount of times I rented King of the Ring 1993 from that place is embarrassing. Could have just bought it brand-new three times over.

Here in the UK we had Silver Vision putting out the Coliseum Video releases and I got a few random things over the years by purchasing WWF tapes, posters, postcards, stamps, a couple of keychains, slammers. However, the few stores that were in my village, only one rented WWF tapes and they had the smallest selection and they had those same tapes all the way up to 2001 when they shut their doors for good.
