I bought my first Mattel in late 2010 but I didn't really start collecting until 2011. Elite 8 Undertaker, Edge and Sheamus were my first elite purchases

I don’t know about day 1 2010 but I remember going to TRU and picking up the entire series of Legends 1

Elite 3 HBK was my first Mattel WWE figure. So I guess 2010.
I remember it like yesterday, walking into target and seeing 3 HBKs on the shelf. At 15 a pop back then I should've grabbed them all. Maybe he can be re released in a future GH set.

My first two elites were Elite 8 Undertaker and Edge. I bought them from Walmart. I was working at the Fire Department full time back then, and I remember taking them to work with me and leaving them in my locker. I must have went to my locker 5 to 6 times a shift messing with them lol I was hooked after that.

I will never forget finding Legends Rude and Jake at Toys R US. That made my entire week

Back then, business was booming on here. Now, not so much. I remember walking into my Toysrus and finding that CM Punk/Stone Cold two pack. That was a great night.

Day one ish, here. Blew my mind when I saw them at Walmart after the talks these were gonna drop. Never stopped since.
My only regret is not jumping on certain re-dos of the Jakks figures, like Demolition, King Kong Bundy, and E16 Kevin Nash. I had a long-standing mindset of, "I'm happy with the Jakks versions." Then slowly over time, the Jakks figures broke down, and I had to replace them with Mattels; had I just scrapped all my Jakks figs and went with the Mattels, I would've saved myself TONS paying retail for certain talents, like the ones I mentioned.

I passed on a lot of the early Mattel stuff, saying "well I already have the JAKKS version, I don't need this." Legends Road Warriors and a few others. I also hated the way those early "Entrance Greats" looked - I'm generally a fan of soft goods but Piper, Dibiase, and others just looked sloppy (and expensive)! I was not interested in these products. The Defining Moments figures finally brought me on board with Mattel..... remember - JAKKS never gave us any Macho Man figures. That first Macho Man Defining Moments was incredible for it's time and it still holds up today as one of Mattel's best figures! They continued to make that line great, following up with Ric Flair..... Sting..... Hulk Hogan..... among others.

I had a plan to stop collecting in 2010. Elite series 1 to 7 were great figures, but I don't collect great figures. Then Elite series 8 happened. The WWE Championship Title Belt (non-spinning Spinner) with Sheamus figure The Intercontinental Championship Title Belt (Oval with nameplate) with Drew McIntyre figure And this is how my Mattel WWE Championship Title Belt collection started.

Elite 16 CM Punk.
I was not impressed with Mattel when they first came out. They just looked like Jakks but smaller and less detail on the faces. Didn’t understand the difference between elites and basics at first and bought a lot of basics when I started collecting.

They continued to make that line great, following up with Ric Flair..... Sting..... Hulk Hogan..... among others. I feel ya. I went with L1 Road Warriors, 'cause those gauntlets were awesome; I felt Jakks did the shoulderpads way better than Mattel's attempt, and was glad the Jakks accessories could be used in place of the Mattels (which is still the case, sometimes, to this day). EGs were hit and miss; I detested the fact they were Basics. I still think the EG Undertaker tie is the best version of the gray tie they have ever done (bought multiples just for the tie). Oh yeah, I was so glad Mattel got us Macho Man figs--Jakks would've surely botched a few, if they had the opportunity. I wanna take the DM and make it a UE, since UE18 Savage got canned, which still has me salty. I wish WWE would work some sort of deal out to get Savage back into the line.

Literally Day 1 1/1/2010.
Found Elite 1 at Toys R Us and bought Punk and Taker (wish I got Edge too)
and later found Basics 1 and 2 and 2 Packs 1 and 2 at K-Mart (stroll down retail memory lane lol) and got Basic Cena, Show, Kingston & Triple H, and 2 Pack Legacy.
'Twas a solid figure hunting day

Started about when Elite Series 8 was hitting shelves. I think that was sometime in 2011
It was a great time to get in though. I remember still running across Cody, Ted Jr and Randy figures from Elite 2, Miz E3, Jericho E4, Morrison, Finley, Regal , DX, Cryme Time, Punk E6
KMart was actually where I had a ton Of luck finding all kinds of Elites back then
Never ever saw a Sheamus E8 and only a couple Drew Mac’s

I bought the DM Mania VII Savage when it came out, but that remained my only Mattel figure until 2016. I thought I was out after Jakks, but the itch to collect wrestling figures came back and I've been in since.

WWE MOTU were my first wrestling figs since Hasbro early 90s. From there I got the first wave of Superstars figures. May 2022, roughly, I bought some Marvel Legends off a guy getting into elites. That got me into elites, and I realized the only Superstars figures I really wanted were ones I didn't yet have elites of. Haven't looked back since. I mostly collect 1996 and before, but I do get some modern female figures. Really into early 90s WCW.

Around the first Shield elites but didn't start really paying attention until the first Finn elite. Ive been buying them for my nephew pretty much from the start but never got any for myself until the first Rollins elite
