I'm still wondering how Eric Bischoff in plain jeans and a leather jacket is worthy of an Ultimate Edition. At this point they just seem like an excuse to sell Elites at a higher price.

I can't believe how many people don't understand.... this is how business works. Add something cool so maybe more people will buy it.... use the molds we already have and try to milk as much money as possible out of those molds.... this is standard stuff that every business does (or SHOULD do to stay profitable). I just don't understand all the anger? If you don't want it - don't buy it. I'm on the fence; It's a lot of money - and the ring will take up a lot of space. I'm a die-hard WCW (and Bischoff) fan.... I'll probably order it, but I need to line up a way to pay for it and not feel like I've overspent. Problem is that I WANT it but I can’t buy it because this ring has made it impossible to afford. My other options are: hope he’s put up separately on eBay and the buy him for scalpers pricing OR pre order the set on RSC and get scalped by Mattel  Well, there WILL be people who just want the ring and not the Bischoff..... keep your eyes open for someone selling the Bischoff for a decent price. You won't get it dirt cheap, but there will be people selling it. Maybe you'll be lucky and get it for a reasonable price.... |

Member when we were promised we wouldn't be pressured to buy another Ultimate ring after funding the first one? Good times. This is essentially how I feel about it. I bought the New Gen ring with the original crowdfund with the hopes they would do other sets with just ring accessories (posts, mats, ring skirts etc) to update the New Gen ring into other companies/shows. But they clearly went back on that to do this nonsense, so I'm out on the rings for the foreseeable future. I'd like the Bischoff, but I'm NOT buying another ring. |

They never said they wouldn’t ever resell the ring in a different theme just that it will never be part of any future crowdfunds. And if we want accessories like cages, ropes, and skirts then there does need to be more of this scale ring in people’s homes. 8000 New Gen rings isn’t a big enough footprint considering a lot are still stored away and the ones that are displayed won’t have 100% support on future accessories. Is it frustrating to have to buy a new ring if all you want is the fig? Sure it is, but if it motivates sales resulting in eventually getting the blue bar cage or HIAC then I’m all for it.

Personally I'm passing for now, too many rings and not enough space.
My interest in buying all Ultimates have already dwindled since I can't find stuff at retail anymore anyways but this is a cool set for people that want it.

Mattel used us to fund their original ring mold, now they push out more and more rings with figures we want and make us keep buying more and more rings that we all funded for them . But idc, keep putting out rings and I’ll keep buying them.

I think if I remember specifically it's scaled to WWE elites, but should be a little smaller. In the real world the WWE ring was bigger than the WCW ring. So in theory, yes it's not scaled to what a WCW ring would be. Honestly, I think at the very least I would have appreciated some tooling for the ringposts. The Toybiz rings got it right in the 90's. Now, I'm just contemplating on whether to get this ring because I nearly sold off 80 percent of my collection and just haven't been feeling like collecting recently. I'll probably cave in because my collection is mainly WCW based.  social media is hilarious. I had jabronis arguing with me on IG that they think it’s smaller. Lol. Just keep pimping out that giant oversized ring that’s 1.5 square inches to big to begin with. Idk anything about the toy rings. But I remembered watching Nitro/Raw back when I was younger and always thought WCW’s ring looked smaller than Raw’s ring. |

You raise a valid point; What's the purpose of making these things with inter-changeable aprons, mats, etc. if they're just going to release an entirely new ring (AND a chase-type figure) every time? What would be cool..... if they started releasing Ring Accessory sets for individual PPV's..... turn your Nitro ring into: Starrcade Halloween Havoc Superbrawl Perhaps they could bundle the PPV accessories WITH a chase-type figure (such as Bischoff) - that might appeal more to the collectors. Sort of like the BAF's..... you have to buy Bischoff (and other desired WCW names) to get the WCW PPV aprons. And likewise with the New Gen ring.... did they ever release PPV aprons, or anything to jazz up the New Gen ring? I passed on that one so I wasn't really following..... |

Buy the ring or don’t get it it’s pretty simple You see, this type of tone deaf mentality is what’s brought us here. You’re privileged enough to reside in a place where these issues don’t affect you and thus you basically have zero right to tell me “buy it or don’t, it’s pretty simple”. Just because the choice is simple for you doesn’t mean it is for everybody else. This thread was made because Mattel has been making it super difficult for fans of WCW to continue collecting and going by most responses, many people agree too. Keeping quiet doesn’t fix anything. Again, I do want to buy it, but I can’t. I’ve been looking forward to this figure since the first announcement but the fact that they’ve gone into scalper territory with the price has really dampened things. Lol this board never ceases to amaze I’m privileged because I’m not going to buy the WCW ring I can’t afford and have no space for If you want the figure buy the ring or find one on eBay. There’s nothing scalperish about this, we knew from the very beginning it was only coming with the ring |

The only issue with selling figures with a ring to get people to buy the ring....is you're gonna get a lot of people who don't buy either and then it can trickle down from there.
I'd like to have the inverted color Kane ultimate but I have no desire or need for the raw ring. On top of that, since it's a glaring omission...I won't be buying any more Kane figures either cause I no longer "need" to have all the looks. So you could have had me for $30-$40...but now you have me for $0

I basically said the same thing when the New Gen ring came out. I want to see future accessory backs for the ring, specifcally the big blue cage (along with ring skirts and stuff). That was my point about the entire ring as I had the WCT one originally and they sold ring skirts and add ons for it. Why go backwards with it and make things less exclusive when we already had something that people liked? The only things ever offered for the New Gen ring was the ring skirts they had listed as a goal like they did with certain figures. I think it was the final thing to unlock. But then since, they haven't released anything crowdfunded or otherwise. It's one of the reasons why I haven't even opened the thing is because if it ends up being useless as they keep releasing new rings instead of accessories, I have zero use for it. |

For anyone who has the Kane ultimate that came with the Raw ring..once you open the main box to seperate the figure from the ring is there anyway to view the figure in its own box without opening it?

That’s kinda been their thing for a while now. People were forced to purchase the Main Event Raw ring for a FTITL Goldberg. Want a new WWE champ Jinder? We’ll gotta buy the ME SDL ring. Help us fund a new ring and you’ll get Diesel. Can’t have this Kane unless you buy a Raw UE ring. And they’re not the only ones to do it. Jazwares have locked a ref, Sting, and Omega to their scale rings as well. difference being most of those were obtainable the only other way to get Bischoff is the non existent Ruthless Aggression figure |

There may have been a basic updated Jinder but they didn’t do another elite for a while and that was in a hard to find Royal Rumble Target exclusive wave. |
