Why on earth can't Mattel use a fabric material for Ultimate Warriors Tassel gimmicks? Jakks used them well. The plastic stiff Tassels on earlier Warrior figures were cheap and stuck in one position. And the new clipped on posable Tassels don't stay on during play. May be too late in the line to make the switch for tassels.

They probably think whoever is buying Warrior figures are too old to be playing with figures, so they do the best they can for display purposes.

I'll be honest, this is one thing I don't miss. I think Mattel makes them right and they're not a dust magnet. I remember always having to re-adjust the Jakk's tassels all the time, it was super annoying.

Not only that the Jakks tassels would unravel even thought they were tied at the ends.

It is very difficult to keep fabric litke that together without it fraying

I'm perfectly happy with the Mattel tassles. Cloth is way too prone to fraying or discoloration., plus its one more opportunity for fabric to stain the figure.

The plastic tassels are fine. They won't have that faded color on them over time like cloth will.

The Jakks ultimate Warrior figures weren’t playable for me as a kid because of the tassels. The biceps would eat them

Jakks tassels got caught in between arm joints etc.

Plastic over fabric tassels.
Now if they could create some type of elastic (like the ring rope material) tassel that works/looks good, then I would be open to that.
Probably would cost more and take multiple tweaks before they get it right tho.

It is a realistic line so i suppose that means they should include realistic cloth tassels. Strange they didnt. Hmmmm...
Oh yeah mattel is a company that makes what people want... obviously based on the responses here plastic is more popular.

Kinda related, but the rubber arm tassels for the Legends GH Bulldog are so annoying. They looks awful when trying to pose his arms any way but at his side.

Steve said it was a design choice. Idky you make new figures and use the older tech when it's been years with the new tassels. If that's the case why give double jointed elbows? Oh well. |
