I think it was part of the Amazon Fan Takeover vote which lost out to the WCW version.

There was an elite. Honestly, I feel this is all we needed. What more could an UE offer? There’s no major accessories he coulda been packed with. And does someone like Goldberg really need the extra points of articulation? How else would you pose him as an UE that you couldn’t as an elite?  |

this really was the best goldberg look.
im glad we got the wcw version but i mean all we got to make that one special was the weird smoking head, dis proportioned wcw us championship and the old big gold. the black and white mma shorts look is just more visually appealing.

Agree on the trunks. About the only "Goldberg" thing that VKM got right were changing his shorts from plain black briefs to these boxer brief, MMA style ones! Would look great on an UE. |

For me, the last UE was really a cash grab. The only new thing that we got was the younger Berg scan, that badly executed smoke scan that people were clamoring for and the open elbow pads. For an ultimate edition and a figure with no deco, they didn’t even gloss his boots. There’s many ways we could of gotten a better Ultimate. The main thing being a new body mold, smaller US belt, new scans and thicker legs.

I'm still bummed that Mattel lied. They said that first Goldberg elite with the ring was just to get a figure out and his future releases would have new or different parts.
But no...they just slapped a Goldberg head on a triple H torso with skinny legs and never looked back
