Like I said before with this topic I had no problem with Nash ending it as he was over like rover but man the way it went down
Powerbomb x3 and thats that. Makes Goldberg look strong in defeat and is a nice way to end the run. But hey we got a taser....WCW for ya

It's an epic moment, and I actually liked the way it ended.

DDP should have done it at Halloween Havoc. If not him, then yeah Nash was the way to go. Just wish it had been clean.

I agree, if they were going to piss it away anyway DDP hitting a diamond cutter out of nowhere and grabbing a quick 123 would have been awesome. I love Nash and he was super over, but the tazer thing sucked!

So pretty much it is also the 25 year anniversary of WCW beginning its death spiral into oblivion.
It did not take long into 1999 for the wheels to completely fall off that wagon. Things got so messy and unwatchable so fast.

Looking back, it probably would have been better to save that as a way to build up one of their younger stars. Nash didn't need the win, but it could have helped someone like Big Poppa Pump, even if he had to cheat to win.

No issue with it ending.
No issue with it being Nash.
No issue with it being dirty with the taser.
it was even salvageable after the FOD on Jan 4th.....
BUT what happened afterwards is where I have the issue. Goldberg beats Hall in a good match at Souled Out & then his quest for revenge is dumped. he eventually gets around to Nash in April at Spring Stampede but nobody cared by then.
He should have beat Hall at Souled out, obliterated the nWo black & white guys on TV weekly(as well as Luger & Bagwell) then beat Hogan at Superbrawl to regain the strap and get his revenge on Nash at Uncensored in the cage. you slowly position new US champ Steiner then as Goldbergs next big threat after keeping them apart and teasing the physicality.
But..yeah lets have Flair vs Hogan again with Flair turning Heel, Hogan turning face & Nash doing his best to be a babyface. FFS their feud didnt need the strap and it was Flair doing all the politicking here.

i think we all feel kinda the same
great match imo (i wish BBB was a bit more fit though)
and like my Joker brother above said, they could have used this as the end of nWo
Hogan and Flair shoulda had a run about who the better legend is no need for belts.

It was compelling...and may have benefited even MORE without the title.

Things got so messy and unwatchable so fast. The 4 nails in the coffin for WCW: 1) Kevin Nash puts himself over Goldberg to end the streak 2) WCW hires Vince Russo 3) David Arquette wins the WCW World Championship 4) WCW programming is cancelled by Time-Warner

But..yeah lets have Flair vs Hogan again with Flair turning Heel, Hogan turning face & Nash doing his best to be a babyface. FFS their feud didnt need the strap and it was Flair doing all the politicking here. Bischoff claiming the reason for the Goldberg loss and NWO fully reforming was so Goldberg would go through them one-by-one in order to get at Nash/Hogan. Which was clearly either bollocks or politicking by Hogan. Because the "unofficial" word is that the NWO reforming was because Hogan didn't want to feud with Nash and thought he could hold the power on and off screen by having them as a unit again. Total squander job. Side note: I've watched every Nitro since early 1997, and I'm currently at April 2000 (couple of weeks after Russo took over), and although Russo gets a bad rap, so far Jan-Apr 2000 before the Arquette WHC win, Nitro is BY FAR better than almost all of 1999's episodes. I am honestly surprised at how compelling the shows have been since Russo and Bischoff took over together. I've noticed a few stupid/ridiculous things that show signs of things to come but by and large it's been so much better. But I'm about to watch the Arquette Thunder episode and am not looking forward to it.
