Sure, but I thought the SDCC exclusives were a bit untraditional. A “wrestling figure of a wrestler from a wrestling match” is what we get from Mattel’s WWE line 99.9% of the time. Sure, but most of those exclusives were still wrestlers in wrestling gear. I'm only speaking for myself but I'd take a Mania 12 Shawn over fanny pack Rock or Pasta Mania Hogan or whatever else. I hear you. There’s no set rule saying an SDCC WWE exclusive has to be a gimmick.

If this gets me an Ultimate Mania 12 HBK I'll take it. I'd much prefer a wrestling figure of a wrestler from a wrestling match instead of some celebrity or some movie or commercial or some boxer or whatever the case may be Sure, but I thought the SDCC exclusives were a bit untraditional. A “wrestling figure of a wrestler from a wrestling match” is what we get from Mattel’s WWE line 99.9% of the time. I think it makes sense when you consider the amount of extra budgeting that would have to go into a proper WM12 Shawn, the entrance gear, pre and post match heads, and a belt, it would have to be some kind of exclusive to get done justice. I feel like the SDCC exclusive being something iconic that wouldn't be viable at retail makes just as much sense as gimmicky figures even if the gimmick ones stand out more

Like him or not, KP’s “clues” sure have sparked a lot of debate here. And that, my fellow collectors, is what you would call an “influencer.”

An Ultimate Edition figure with special accessories could make for a good SDCC Exclusive.

Oh absolutely. Me and my buddies talk about that from time to time. I'm sure there's a ton of figures that got rejected that had figure of the year potential

The problem with Mattel is that they are too politically correct. Look at all the great Stone Cold shirts and vests that won't get made just because they don't want to put "BMF" or "Bullet Proof" or "Whoop Ass" or "SOB"on a vest. We won't ever get complete Stone Cold look from Wrestlemania 14 or Wrestlemania X-Seven because of this.

I suppose it could work as a Mattel Creations made to order kind of thing, but like i said elsewhere in the thread id imagine Mattel didn't feel like gambling on a celebrity this year after Ali underperformed

Mattel Creations should offer any figure that has accessories that are too “mature” for general retail.

I don’t blame Mattel for playing it safer after last year’s WWE exclusive didn’t exactly light the collecting world on fire.

It’s just an acronym and can mean multiple things. Bullet proof I don’t see an issue with when Mattel mentions the word hell in the back of a package. Remember the whole beer can debacle?

I highly doubt it’s WM12 HBK. SDCC exclusives need to create some mainstream buzz even if it’s a mainline fig. No one is gonna be talking about a normal ass Shawn Michaels fig. Rock, Austin, Hogan, and maybe Cena alone could possibly generate some attention but HBK would not move the needle at all.

These kids today I swear… Like I said before, this is how the world ends: not with a bang, but with a bottle of Prime. We may not like it, but that’s how it is, alas. Only 12 year olds like YouTubers. This is why this place should have a age limit
