This all sounds interesting ….do you have any more details? And if not, this would be a very interesting thing to ‘fantasy book’ from an alternate timeline! His Nazi tatoos caused quite a bit of a stir in the locker room & a few wrestlers complained to Vince because the Fink in particular was majorly upset by them. Tony had got them in the stupidity of youth but kinda like Slater(or was it Murdoch? whichever of them did a spot in the 90s) being in the Klan? Vince wanted no part of that action. At the time he had enough headaches with steroid trials, potential jail time etc. But Vince was super high on Tony Halme...there is more than one guy has said he was in for that monster showing in the RR. Vince had top tier plans for him. Both Prichard &JR have spoke about it on their podcasts. SSeries 93 podcast with Prichard I believe....on a side note? my hasbro Ludvig Borga was unstoppable man. Put Snuka, Roberts, Rude, Koko B Ware & Akeem on the shelf for good..... Thanks for elaborating; it’s fascinating to think that had Borga had the dominant rumble showing, and had Luger gone on to win the rumble like the rumours suggest was the original plan, maybe they would have met for the title at mania 10? And as for the Hasbro, I didn’t pick one up until I was an adult and started getting back into finishing off my Hasbro collection, but it’s easily one of my favourite hasbros - even though it’s missing a broken finger! But such a cool figure with a great head sculpt. I just wish I’d got Kid, Crush & Adam Bomb back then too before everything went crazy money!

I’ve always liked wrestlers that are presented as an aggressive and destructive force that are so tough they don’t sell much, so I was invested in Ludvig Borga. I’m also intrigued by what could have been. He certainly seemed like a credible threat to the WWF title. I don’t know about any of these rumoured plans for him, I only know that he was booked against Tatanka at the Rumble and Earthquake at WrestleMania. I couldn’t see Tatanka beating him cleanly, Borga was too tough (Luger’s bionic forearm was a credible way to pin him), but maybe Tatanka could have won by DQ and I was really excited for his match with Earthquake as I really couldn’t tell which way they would go with it. Both would have needed a win for various reasons, so it wasn’t an obvious result to call (In the grand scheme of wrestling though, I would have Borga beat Earthquake but it would have to be dirty as I seriously doubt he could get Quake up in the torture rack). From there I can’t imagine where he would have fit in unless they had Luger winning the title at Mania, then wrestling Bret later with Owen’s interference causing Bret to lose (or even better, attacking Luger causing Bret to get disqualified) and having SummerSlam be Lex vs Borga for the title and Bret vs Owen without needing a belt involved and Yoko facing Taker in the casket match that happened at Survivor Series. That means no fake Undertaker and possibly Borga having to win KotR to earn the title match, but Owen emulating Bret’s previous King of the Ring win and becoming the King of Harts is too good to miss out on.
As for Earthquake, I was a fan and was disappointed that we missed out on two advertised matches that I was looking forward to (Borga and Owen Hart) and it’s a shame that this run ended in such a whimper.

Looking back, his run does seem a bit strange. It would have appeared the logical sequence of events was going to be Luger winning the belt at SummerSlam 93 and Borga being built as his challenger, maybe by Survivor Series or even Rumble 94. A feud with Luger seemed inevitable even without the title, but he was pinned by Luger in the elimination match at SSeries and that was basically it. Seemed a weird way to "end" a feud without a true one on one match, but by the time Rumble rolled around two months later the USA gimmick was already waning and Borga ended up injured.
I wonder just how far in advance they had the co-winners finish booked for Rumble? Had Borga been healthy, I could possibly see him beating Tatanka there and maybe even eliminates or interferes in getting Luger eliminated from the Rumble as revenge for SSeries and we get Luger vs Borga one on one at WMX.

Tony was in the third Die Hard, which I think is the best one. If he were still with WWF, I wonder how that would have been handled. I can't see Vince missing an opportunity to mention his talent is in a major motion picture but will it kill kayfabe or will it be a continuation as it as Tony is a "bad guy" in the movie.
The Wrestlemania X match has always been a huge "what if?" to me as you want to keep Borga strong but Quake would be coming back and feuding with Yokozuna. I feel like that match would have been the one cut. Maybe the 10 man tag will still be cut or maybe a 30 second deal with someone getting pinned. The previous 2 manias had matches and X was no different.
