So, more Rumble stuff during Rumble season...
What would you guys say are some weird moments for you?
Tbh I gotta say the 01 Rumble is my fav along with 92, but Billy Gunn in the final 4 felt random as hell at the time, lol. I love Billy Gunn, but it should have been Austin/Rock/Kane/Taker or Austin/Rock/Kane/Rikishi, tbh.
I'd say HBK missing Rumble 09 was a weird call tbh... he should have been in it while he still could have since the 2010 Rumble was his final one.

Fatu being in the final 4 in 1994 when he was a Headshrinker
Not that it's a bad weird, but knowing the British Bulldog was in the final four in 1991, 1995, and 1996 is just freaking awesome!

Warlord getting eliminated by Hogan in 3 of the 4 rumble matches he was in, pretty strange.

Batista in the final four 2003. He'd only returned to TV the month prior

Alex Riley getting shoot eliminated way early in such a nondistinct manner, Miz and the commentators just continue on as if he is still in the match.

Something that was weird at the time because both were baby faces but AWESOME as I watch it back, was how you can see Piper in the 92 Rumble creeping up behind Hogan in a shot like he was reverting back to his former heel self, and about to attack him, before he was cut off.
I love that attention to detail that Roddy is good now, but he still hates Hogan haha. Weird at the time though for people that didn’t know the whole story I guess.
Another weird thing, and I’m biased, is that Warrior didn’t win the 1990 Rumble. I actually think it makes more sense for the Champion at that time to win, all that happened was Warrior got thrown over the top rope so it’s not like it diminished him to me. But knowing WWE and how they strap the rocket to the next guy, I’m surprised they did it that way. It made the win over Hogan appear even bigger because he was promoted as THEE top guy, and I like that.

They even have em on the back of the VHS box!

Hogan eliminating a friend of his in three straight rumbles (Macho in 89, Warrior in 90, and Tugboat in 91) but whines when Sid did the same thing in 1992.

Hogan definitely is the greatest heel of all-time. Doing all of these heelish things, yet people cheered for him like no other. Like Jesse the Body said, "Hogan, he's sneaky."

Santino Marella and Alberto Del Rio being the final two in a 40 man Royal Rumble in 2011. Doubt anyone had that in their betting pool at the time.
Thinking about some major guys who practically did everything else but never won a Rumble - i.e. Kurt Angle, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior
2012 Rumble selection was kinda bizarre - Ricardo Rodriguez, Michael Cole, Kharma, Only one Uso, etc...

I like a mid carder in the final 4, it makes the Rumble more realistic and gives the mid carder a rub.
Anyway for weird moments I would have to go for.
Finlay getting disqualified in the 08 Rumble for using a weapon. Rumbles are meant to be no DQ.
Coach in the 05 Rumble.
Terry Funk coming out to no music in the 97 Rumble.
Bob Backlund in the 00 Rumble.
Those guys in white attacking Kane in the 99 Rumble.

You’d think he could have made an appearance. Would have been ideal for him to make an entrance, only to be eliminated seconds later.

Preferably 00. Have em take Backlunds spot
