The longevity of his career is amazing, but he never did it for me. Never bought him as a main eventer at all. Nothing wrong with being a decent mid carder at all, but no way was he main event material. He was decent in the ring, I struggle to think of one amazing match he actually had. Most of the time came off like an imitation of Mr. Perfect and HBK. Yet he was able to have passable and decent matches with pretty much anyone. Nothing ever blew me away, but he was never boring for me eitherm Still, the fact he was able to stay as long as he did does tell you he had something. He just never clicked with me the way he did with other people. He didn't have many "amazing" matches because he wasn't booked to have any - 20 years in WWE and never had a singles match at WrestleMania... He had some fantastic 1-1 matches like IC title matches with Rollins (several on Raw and PPV's), Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, John Cena, Luke Harper, etc. The problem is the audience couldn't buy into him because we knew there was a near 100% chance he wasn't going to win any big match. He got a singles match at WM37 with Otis but he really deserved a few more.

He was one of my favourite wrestlers between 2011-2013, it’s sad he’s gone but there was very little to care for. I don’t mind not seeing him back in WWE again but hope he can become a bigger star elsewhere.

I don't think he'll be back for anything significant, maybe a Rumble appearance in a couple of years. I liked Dolph, dumb name, but he was entertaining. I do think he got lazy in the later part of his run, not that he had anything to be charged up about. Also he needed to stop being "HBK Light". It did no favors cosplaying as Shawn.

Yeah he’ll be back at least for a Rumble at some point, I would expect. He’s alright in a midcard role and has a few standout matches and moments in his career. Great at bumping, which is good for a highlight reel, but usually awful at selling and pacing, which is bad for trying to crack the main event scene.

I don’t know how true it is but I read that Pat Patterson was behind Ziggler and wanted him pushed, but they kept making him lose just to see Pat’s reaction

If Bobby Roode never got injured, then we'd probably still have em as a tag team in WWE tbh.

The WWE's biggest loser. Most losses in the history of the company. According to Ziggler Vince deliberately buried him to piss off Patterson who was very supportive of him backstage.

I lost interest when he decided to just be a wwe hand and not develop himself further In his defense there was not the same opportunity there was when McIntyre and Rhodes left WWE. The indies weren't well known to the broader wrestling community during the Ruthless Aggression era, they were just starting on DVDs. By the time the Indy scene had some recognition everyone shortly got signed to NXT. There was a barren few years that would have been the time for Ziggler to jump, but why take that risk when he's established on the card? Drew was released and Cody was in a worse position than Ziggler (Ziggler spent much more time in higher profile programs than Cody at the time). Anyway yes, in a perfect world Ziggler could have made that happen, but his WWE career began too early that it would have been a bad bet and the resources just weren't there at the time when WWE had peak monopolization on pro wrestling.
