More Rumble stuff during Rumble season...
Tbh I loved this match. I know 09 was a weird year but it did have many great matches & moments for sure.
Anyone else like it? Hate it? Good? Bad? Great? Lame? Classic? Average? Fun?
I'd say all the Rumbles of the 2000s were bangers...2000-09 all delivered.
09 featured HHH,Taker,Orton,RVD return, Hacksaw return, Jericho, Big Show,Kane,Rey,Goldust,MVP,Miz,Morrison,Carlito, R Truth,CM Punk, Cody Rhodes,Kofi,Benjamin,Regal,Henry,Ziggler etc. A good crop of top guys,new guys, young guys, legends etc.

The star power in this match was huge, the ring was full and Legacy really shone as stable.
It also had real cool moments like Orton ordering Cody to eliminate Goldust, RVD returning, Kane eliminating Santino.
I did think that Big Show was an awful number 30.

I mean, even Jim Duggan was still over like rover there to be a surprise entrant and get a huge pop from the crowd!
It was a really fun Rumble match. I liked the 2010 one much better though. I feel the 2010 Rumble match had the same star power as the 1992 Rumble match had for its time.
But 2009 was a great one too! Undertaker bled in that match from his head pretty early on in the match and I am not sure how it even happened.

Hogan/Rock & Taker/HBK should have main event'ed or...and bare with with me here? with WM18 Jericho could have been positioned as a legit threat to HHH? & at WM25 HHH himself could have remembered why he hated Orton at WM25 and yknow maybe got some of that across in the match? Nobody cared about either match because Jericho was portrayed as Stephs help in the real feud between her & HHH & HHH left his desire for revenge out in the car with his wallet at WM25. The excellent matches that preceded them are just excuses. Sh*t ones at that. |

HHH didn't show up for this one...all the fire, urge for revenge & intensity was absent. I'd love to know what Orton thought here. But that being said? They've never had good matches and shouldn't have been given the ME . I loved HHH/Orton Last Man Standing in 07 & 08 but WM25 would have been a great Street Fight. HHH vs Jericho also should have been a Street Fight tbh. They had bangers previously. |
