How did everyone react to these at the time if you were watching or invested in the product? For me it completely backfired on Vince...My Friends and I were in and out on WWF at the time because we were 15/16 and WCW wasn't on our radar at all because it was genuinely hard to catch here in Ireland.
I had caught Hogan, Flair, Vader & Savage on Baywatch but again...we'd nowhere to watch. Then TNT started showing WCW and the billionaire Ted skits automatically made us start to tune in to see what was going on.
Also Bischoff's reaction to Vince's lawsuit over it was cooler than the far side of the pillow as JR would say....Vince just looked bad.

I was leaning more towards WCW at the time so to me they just came off like WWF poking fun at WCW but I didn’t believe the skits were true. I was watching WCW and Hogan and Savage were looking better than they ever had haha, so the age thing seemed like a general insult that didn’t apply.
WWF came off as very passé at that time. WCW was the inn thing
The part where they say Hogan can be the boy toy though made me crack up and still does. That ALMOST worked! It almost made WWF seem cool.

I only really knew of WCW through powerslam (uk mag) and used to skip the articles so the whole thing was lost on me! I remember thinking it was to emphasis how young and hip the WWF was now compared to wrestlers that used to be in the fed. Wasn’t until I was older that I realised it was a (very childish) dig at the competition.

I was a teenager so I had a high tolerance for stupid stuff, but even I thought it was dumb. I still loved Randy Savage so why would I want to make fun of him?
You just know Vince was doing his big belly laugh saying what good crapit was 😂

Didnt find these amusing at all.WWF was trying to be all hip and cool but it just flopped hard
I always looked at it as Vince trying to humor himself in a dire situation with Nitro beating Raw at the time

I remember Vince Russo being a part of the videos. But I did find some things in regards of those skits to be funny.
The match they had at Wrestlemania XII was funny when the match started and Hogan was already lying on the mat and asking for oxygen. That legit did make me laugh but then again I was 15 years old at the time so my humour for that was a bit childish I suppose.

I thought it was quite sensationalist to be mentioning WCW and their owner so liberally, and I could kinda see where they were coming from in that sense at least, but I personally never found them that funny. As mentioned, these guys were still heroes who hadn’t wronged any of us and then they were suddenly made out to be old and useless and therefore bad.
