Wondering what you guys think on this. Personally, I look at The Rockers as its own thing, much like the Hart Foundation or the British Bulldogs, each group containing a wrestler that went on to be much more successful as a singles competitor. But The Rockers themself were very popular and IMO one of the all time great tag teams, easily.
However, throughout time, they have been recognized so little. Even teams like Demolition that had far less variety in attires and bad standing with WWE have MANY more toys & been featured in multiple games. Think about this…
-The Rockers have NEVER been featured in a video game. Not a single one, the closest we have gotten was HBK had a Rockers attire in Legends of WrestleMania, but no Marty.
-The Rockers are not in the Hall of Fame
-The Rockers have never been recognized as WWF/ E tag team champions
-The WWF Rockers have only had 3 sets of figures in history if I’m not mistaken? (1 Hasbro, 1 Jakks, 1 Mattel)
This is one of the great injustices in wrestling
Why do you think it’s played out this way for them only?

Marty has that Retrofest fig in Rocker attire but yeah not many 2 packs for sure
The HOF snub def has to do with his excess baggage. Even now with Trips in charge the chances are still slim unfortunately

The idea that they have never been in a single video game is shocking haha. I’m thinking like WrestleFest era, they put in Smash & Crush which was well past Demolitions prime. That was the game I can’t believe they didn’t make it into.

The guy is a lunatic. The stuff he posts on social media, and such, it's just best in the WWE's eye to stay away from him.
But yes, the Rockers action figures are few and far between.
Hasbros - 2 pack, and Marty on his own
Jakks - 2 pack and Marty in a 3 pack with Anvil and Santana
Mattel - 2 pack and HBK in Rockers gear in retrofest
That's it!
So I am thinking in the Jakks and Mattel years they did what they could do in regards of Marty to have a figure but got away from him as soon as they could too.

I agree with you, the thing that gets me is even their prime…1 set of figures, 0 game appearances, 0 tag titles (I know about the botched match but still, 0 titles) With all the attires they had, I would have thought they’d be tag team version of Warrior in regards to merchandising. I get the hesitation now on Mattel’s part, but all 3 companies have signed Marty to a deal I also don’t get how Marty has been signed and they always put out singles versions rather than just pairing him with Shawn. It’s like signing the Dudley’s but they keep making Reverend D-Vons haha |

I’m also of the belief that this is coz of Marty’s behaviour. It’s such a pity coz he was my fave member of the team and I was behind his initial singles run after the split.
I wish someone would intervene with him, I really want more figures of him and the Rockers, as well as seeing them inducted into the HOF and appearing in the video-games!! (Although I get why they weren’t in WrestleFest: an established heel team was needed opposite LOD).

I was a big fan when I was a kid and they were way ahead of their time, but really, they didnt exactly have a sparkling win-loss record. Both guys did their share of drugs and partying, but Marty Jannetty being the fall guy for it was what prevented both of them from becoming big stars instead of just Shawn Michaels.

For the popularity they had achieved and how marketable they were due to all the different attires, they received a shockingly low amount of things such as toys, game appearances etc. I would put The Rockers right in there with the Hart Foundation, LOD and Demolition but the other 3 have LOTS of product. |

There’s stories of The Rockers drugging women so it’s probably not a great idea to shine a spotlight on them given the current going-ons of the company

The Rocker's are my favourite tag team of all time, but I honestly do not see a time going from 88 to their split where them being tag champs would have been better than what we got. I do not think they needed the belts. They stole the show more often than not.
I wish they would get into the hall of fame. However even more than that, I wish Marty could get his crap together. I do not know if they have to be fair, but he's one guy WWE needs to reach out to. His self destructive behaviour is crazy and it really sucks to see how bad he's doing now.
Hopefully he can get through it and live a good life. For all the years of entertainment he gave me I feel he deserves it.

I have sympathy for Marty because I feel like he is the other side of the coin, he’s Shawn had he not turned his life around. I also feel like Marty was punished for his mistakes where as Shawn was tolerated. Was Marty brought back more times than anybody in wrestlings history? YES, but he could never get traction because he would constantly get fired (sometimes unfairly so) for mistakes where as Shawn would make the same mistakes, and be kept on TV.
