Toby Keith was my and my brothers' favorite artist growing up. My older brother got his first album on cassette the Christmas after it came out and we wore out that tape. I bought every album of his until the late 2000s when I got away from country music, but I've never stopped listening to his music and never will. He had some massive hits, but most of my favorite songs of his were his non-single album tracks. He was an absolutely incredible songwriter.
I'm sorry for him and his family that he's gone.

Some more: Losing My Touch It Works For Me Hurt A Lot Worse When You Go Strangers Again I Can't Take You Anywhere Every Night Closin' Time At Home I could go on and on but he was a legend and I'll miss what he still would have done if his time wasnt cut short. I'd always planned to make my own Greatest Hits albums (playlist now) with album cuts he didn't release. I think I'll finish that finally. |

Never been a big country music fan, I can count the country artists I’ll actually listen to on one hand & Toby Keith is one of them … I remember going to a concert of his with my first wife on the very day in 2001 that the war in Afghanistan started, he was onstage & announced it by saying “we’re bombing their asses right now as we speak” the pop from the entire crowd shook the building when he said that … it was a great concert along with Jamie O’ Neal … it’s hard to believe that both he & my first wife are gone now, both from cancer … RIP Toby you will never be forgotten, much respect … my condolences to his family, friends & other fans … God bless

Sure did … because Natalie Maines said she was ashamed of President George W Bush being from Texas … Natalie wore a FUTK shirt during a.concert & Toby put up a photoshopped pic of them with Saddam Hussain at one of his shows … they went back & forth for a while, got pretty brutal |
