Flair Forever I think it’s more than fair when the Starrcade ‘97 was my most wanted Hogan attire. I collect like 5 figures a year, so it sucks when the stuff you most anticipate has several mistakes. You look at details on his tights and wondered what happened. It’s not like it’s a budgeting reason, there would be less paint work involved. The design is wrong and right off the bat it’s noticeable. Even the choice of blue is wrong too. I don’t mind the lack of white trimmed kneepads or the lack of design on the bandanna too much. I could fix those myself. The tights I can’t fix unless I strip off the whole paint myself and redo them. Could someone answer why the design is wrong? Is this a bad Hogan figure? It’s not, but it’s also disappointing if you it was your most wanted attire and Mattel gets the design wrong. Just a quick Google search and you have decent reference pictures.

For my money, I think you're all being a little harsh..... I think the figure looks great. Glad to add to my collection, and I had to buy a 2nd 3-pack to keep MOC because Hulk Rules!  Yeah, I love the 3 pack. I wish 80s Hogan was yellow and red, the Hollywood Rules shirt was a tad longer, and NWO Hogan had a weight belt, but I freaking love this 3-pack. It’s two of my most wanted eras of Hogan in elite form and the new torso looks great and the skin tone looks great. In fact, the new torso and skin tone are so good, I want a do over of 2002 NWO Hogan and WCW pre-NWO Hogan. |

I’m sure they knew it wasn’t accurate but I can tell you what their answer would be to that question. The same it always is goes something like this…. We have a certain number of financial slots and have to pick and choose a combination of what we think works best so some details were skipped over OR!!!! The classic line of “ maybe this can be revisited later on in the line and we can fix some of the things misses IE another rerelease they make money off of because it’s “finally” correct. Ya figured it out!!! |

I am sure that they felt to keep it at the $64 price point the white trim on the pads was left off because it was a hit on the budget that they felt wasn’t needed. I know people will say it’s 4 thin lines, but those 4 thin lines have to go on how many pieces in the production run? Which they need to pay for the power in the factory to run the machines. A workforce to run the machines and the materials (paint) that all adds up. So I am sure it was a conscious decision to keep the cost down.

As far as I can recall, the only time they've ever done white lines on knee/elbow pads are on the Dingo Warrior Legends fig and the WM Bret Hart from a couple years ago. Both were pretty budget friendly figures, so they probably had the room for the extra deco hits. Would it be great if every single granular detail was covered? Sure. But these are still mass produced retail toys - they have a budget, time constraints, and logistics to work within. I have no doubt there are conscious choices to cut corners or omit detail sometimes. Sometimes those errors are pretty damning. But this doesn't feel like one of those times for me. |

What about the inaccurate tights? It surely would of saved Mattel money if they would of went with less heavy line work on the lightning bolts and there were no baby blue outlines on his tights. They were a darker shade of blue like the ultimate edition which they got right. Another thing is they didn’t even get the Hollywood font right on his tights. They should of just made this figure an ultimate if anything. |

I just noticed the "HOLLYWO," yesterday, when I was popping the boots off, to remove the kneepads (to paint the top/bottom white). I was like, "WOWWWW." Yay Mattel. 1 other Target in my town restocked Hogan 3-packs. Still the scrawled bandanas on those. |

PJ I noticed that too. Sucks it’s incomplete. I’m making a fuss about this because it was my most desired Hogan attire. It just sucks they got the tight design wrong. There’s so many reference pictures online. I’m okay with a slip or two if I could fix it, but some stuff you can’t fix without stripping paint and redoing it yourself.

2002 Hogan looks more like 2010 TNA Hogan when he tagged with Abyss since he has long hair. 2002 Hogan had shorter hair in the back.
