Just Capt. Lou, I'm going to display mine with the Samoans. I wanted a Mattel-made Ichiban Hogan for a while now but, at this point, I'm fatigued from all the Hogans so kinda dont care anymore.

Can someone kindly explain to me the seemingly large appeal of this "Ichiban Hogan?"
I consider myself a pretty true Hulkamaniac, and yet - I surely wasn't watching when Hulk Hogan wrestled in Japan.... how did American fans even see any of this back then? Tape trading?
And if that's the case, I still don't get why so many are excited for this version of Hogan, as I can't imagine too many fans were watching Hogan during this period?
I'm just super curious...... I MIGHT buy the figure just to add to my collection, but this particular era of Hogan doesn't resonate with me.... and it certainly isn't something I've been clamoring for.....
Red & Yellow for me, brother.....

A couple of weeks later, Bob Backlund brings in a surprise tag-team partner against the Wild Samoans. And then 1/23 at MSG. The black shirt, black trunks and knee pads, and silver boots were classic earliest HULKAMANIA just before, and just after, his return to the WWF.

I’m mostly red and yellow too. But I love the black too, both early and Hollywood. I was hoping the shirt that came with this figure was the same AMERICAN MADE that came with the Then/Now/Forever set, but in black instead of red. I’ll just have to find a black tank top somewhere.

Defintely Capt. Lou followed closely by Sultan. Hogan would be third.
Ali is the first Legends figure that I have not preordered - I will pick him up on clearence if he goes under $10.
If not, I'm perfectly okay with him being the first Legends figure in the rebooted Target line that I did not buy (have them all except for the Valentine chase and the DLO chase).

The Sultan will be an immediate purchase, Capt. Lou eventually but passing on Hogan and Ali.

Sultan and Captain Lou. Captain Lou is one I've wanted forever. I am holding out hope they will release a Cyndi Lauper one day to go with him.
Sultan looks amazing with the added accessories and one-off tooling that is really nice. Feels like a brand new character.
Will skip the other two.

22 series’ in and I’ve been able to get all of them. This will be my first miss. Ali in this set is an awful choice.

Captain Lou first and Ichiban second, though I still think Hogan would look better tan.
Sultan snd Ali are easy passes.

Captain Lou..... long overdue. First time my little brothers and I ever went to an independent wrestling show, we had zero idea how any of this worked. We were pretty young & we didn't know that you had to pay for autographs at a show like this. First guy we saw was Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.... we asked for his autograph (we had no money). He basically told us to "f_ _ _ off". And he wasn't very nice about it.... We were nearly in tears.... when this older guy, with lots of rubber bands in his beard waved us over to his table. He was eating a hoagie. He very politely explained to us how it all worked.... and then he gave us a free autographed 8X10. That cool dude was Captain Lou Albano! When my mother was selling her house a few years ago, I rummaged through a pile of stuff from her attic that was set to be taken by trash collectors..... I found this 8X10. Of course I salvaged it, re-framed it, and now it hangs proudly on my collection wall! I'm still horrified that this treasure was about 24 hours away from going into the dump. Just as Captain Lou kindly welcomed us to the world of independent wrestling..... soon I'll proudly welcome the Captain Lou Legends figure into my collection! Awesome story! Thank you for sharing!!!

Captain Lou Albano by far. Wasn’t sure how they would depict him in figure form but the fact that they chose his most iconic look as an early 80s heel manager with the blue and red vest is perfect.

So I’m assuming a lot of wrestling fans who couldn’t watch on tv, missed some ppvs/shows kept up with wrestling thru magazines and renting video tapes. But in the 90s I would watch on tv, buy every magazine and rent out alot of the ppv VHS tapes and the internet was useful too.
