With the WWE Network dying on us permanently it appears to be come next year, I started to reflect on an era that was just rather perfect for us wrestling fans who had a cable box to watch TV with... the WWE 24/7 era, which later became WWE Classics on Demand.
I remember getting it finally, and when I did.... Wow! It was so cool. I would get excited each month to see what new things were gonna be appearing for that month, and it made going there exciting. I would always throw on something before going to bed so I could lie there and just fall asleep to whatever wrestling I was watching.
It was just a very cool time for a wrestling fan. When they stopped it and created the WWE Network a few months later, it sucked for me living in Canada. We didn't get the WWE Network for an entire YEAR!! I kept saying, "why didn't they just keep the Classics On Demand?!?! That worked perfectly!"
It sucks though that the WWE felt that to air new content of new current shows was more important than to throw up every classic NWA, WCW, ECW, AWA, WCCW, CWF, USWA, GWF and whatever library they own, including I believe they own the ICW library now that Angelo Poffo owned, and yet we get updated episodes of The Bump, and the Top 10 lists, or whatever other garbage they rather put on there.
With the WWE Classics On Demand we had classic content! Maybe they would have a current PPV on there from time to time that happened months earlier, but it didn't both me, because the classic stuff outweighed any new stuff. Just better days.
So what are everyone's memory of this great on demand channel we had for our cable boxes so many years ago??

Man I loved 24/7. I remember subbing to it in February 07 with the run ending in February '14. An awesome 7 years let me tell ya
Loved all the old PTW and house shows they would thrown on there every month. Plus the specific themes was a nice touch. It was also nice to see toward the end there Mania and Worldwide episodes uploaded
But yeah great service. I remember being excited for the schedule for each month to see what was gonna be on tap. Many binge nights thats for sure

I was a late bloomer at getting the Classics On Demand, I think I got it in 2012 I wanna say. But I remember the first time I realized the blurred was gone was in the first WWF Attitude Era Blu Ray/DVD that came out then. It was a welcoming addition to my collection to see wrestling from that era without the blur.
I never understood how or why Vince had to blur out the scratch logo?? The old WWF logo from the 80s was fine still, but that scratch logo had to be blurred. And it sucked for when all the turnbuckles had it.

Yeah it is weird considering they got sued back in 94 when the block logo was there. I do believe they had more issues with the pandas in 00 which is probably the reason behind that logo being blurred. I remember on VHS tapes during that time on the box they would have ''World Wrestling Federation Entertainment'' so gotta think there was a reason for that. They were def losing in the court room But yeah it irked the sh** outta me seeing blurs all over plus any mention of WWF in promos getting the axe as well. There was even a brief time not long before they got the rights to use the F again they blurred out ''World Wrestling Federation'' on nameplates. I remember watching a Raw with Vince coming down and seeing that blurred out and I'm like WTF I thought they were at least allowed to show that!! Must've been someone new doing the editing as he got the memo not long after that saying/displaying the full name is not on the censored list

I remember hearing a story about the world wildlife fund sending a plane over to Kenya, or somewhere similar. Some of the locals had turned up with banners etc as they had heard the WWF was coming and were disappointed when there was no wrestlers alighting from the plane! Not sure if it’s a true story but amused me when I heard about it!
