So I seen this pic come up on Facebook today. I am 100% sure these two never had a reign together as WCW/NWA US Tag Team Champions, but here they are with the belts. It said they defeated Gilbert/Steiner for them, but as far as I remember, Gilbert and Steiner were stripped of the belts and then a tournament happened months later that Pillman and Z-Man won.
Does anyone have any information on this then??

Doing some research on this as yeah they def didnt hold these belts...
It was during a Main Event taping circa April 89. It was an unaired non title match from what I can see. So my guess is they stole the belts post match and posed for a pic backstage

I'm wondering if the plan was for them to be champions but got scrapped cause of Reed getting paired with Simmons not too long after this match happened. Cause it was odd that Steiner and Gilbert just got stripped of them because Rick wanted to tag with Scott.

Makes sense cause if you recall Sheiky formed that brief alliance with Simmons that Summer which would lead into the formation of Doom |
