WM40 is about 34 days away so I thought this would be a good one during WM season...
What are your guys' overall thoughts on the 16th WM back in the year 2000?
Some say its one of the worst or even the number one worst ever... tbh I thought it wasn't that bad but it also wasn't really that good. I expected MUCH more back then but it sucked with Austin & Takers injuries.
I loved the 4 Way main event & the Triangle Ladder match. Without em I'd say that this WM would have been up there with the worst tbh.

I didn't care for it all that much but definitely don't consider it the worst.
3way ladder match was really the only thing I liked and Trish's attire.

I also liked the Hardcore Battle Royal & Jericho/Angle/Benoit. Not too bad tbh.

A very underrated Mania and mostly hated because of it's poor main event. However, people tend to forget just how awesome the undercard was. The Battle Royal was fun along with the Ladder match, the triple threat and the four tag matches.
That Mania managed to showcase most of the roster at the time where today a Mania spot isn't always certain if your a mid carder/tag team.
What ruined the main event imo was The Big Show. It was in his contract that in within his first year he would have a title win and main event a Mania. They got his title win out of the way at SS99 but the Mania main event was still pending.
Big Show's crazy contract must have really give the writers a headache.

I don't remember this one very well. I wasn't watching as much, especially with Austin on the shelf. I enjoyed the Cactus Jack/HHH feud, but this did nothing for me. Also, heel Rock > babyface Rock.

Def not on my fav Mania list but I did like some stuff
Triple threat for the 2 belts and the hardcore invitational immediately come to mind

Billy Gunn missing WM due to injury also sucked.

Hated it! There wasn't one singles match on the card unless you count the arm wrestling match between The Kat and Terri
It was just tag matches galore!
Brown/Godfather vs. Bull/Boss Man Test/Albert vs. Snow/Blackman Rikishi/Kane vs. Road Dogg/X Pac Rikishi/Too Cool vs. Radicalz Benoit vs. Jericho vs. Angle Edge/Christian vs. Dudleys vs Hardys Triple H vs. Big Show vs. Rock vs. Mick Foley The Hardcore Match for the Hardcore Title
Just not a very good Wrestlemania honestly. I would rank it as the worst Wrestlemania in my opinion.

Poor & the crowd was as dead as a dodo for a lot of it.
But honestly it all worked out because we got the ME Vince had originally planned a month later at Backlash with a piping hot crowd when Austin was cleared to participate.
2000 had some seriously great PPVs but WM wasn't one of them. 2nd year in a row that Backlash bettered WM.

It's not terrible, but certainly not one of my favourites.
Ladder match and Jericho Vs Angle Vs Benoit are real highlights for me.
A strange memory of this I have is The Godfathers entrance. When I first saw Ice T I was thinking it was the coolest thing ever. Then after hearing him say "pimping ain't easy man" for the 500th time I was well and truly sick of it.

I have it closer to the middle of my unofficial, nonscientific rankings. Sneaks its way there but there are definitely some hidden gems on the card. Foley was the unnecessary one in the main event, not Show.
WM 2000 came early in their DVD experience for sure.

I'd say its not the best or worst WM tbh. The injuries really killed it. I expected much more but we still got some fun moments overall.

The Ladder match, IC/Euro Title match & Hardcore match was all good. I even enjoyed the main event.

Im so Glad Austin didn't get cleared to return here & they had to pivot....it would have been a waste in front of this dead crowd. I wouldnt change his return at Backlash, that hot crowd or Vinces excellent heel speech about "card subject to change" beforehand for anything...LOL.
JR: "Oh look here's Patterson the parade must be over" LMFAO

I’ve never watched it (didn’t have access to TV at the time). That shows how appealing it must be to me as I’ve had the WWE Network since the beginning and never tried to watch it. I’ve read all about it and that’s been enough.
However, it is on the agenda now as my dad has cancer and I’ve told him that we need to watch all the Wrestlemanias together in order.
