I'll have you know good sir, I was a certified AMC Ape during that time AND I made money off those stocks. So I'm pretty qualified to give stock advice...but not collecting advice. I let the experts in the thread handle that. I sold a bunch of my big cards during the Pandemic. Of course watching the behavior of the card companies during that time period turned me almost completely off of the hobby. But I got out and made a lot of money on people paying way too ing much on basic ass cards. I got into flipping card collections in 2020/21 and made out like a bandit. We didn't know how good we had it till it was gone.

The toy and collectibles bubble popped in early-2022. I would agree with that. Most people are priced out now since prices have doubled. In many cases scalpers are now buying from resellers and the die hards still in the game buy from them. The average scalper has quit though as the big resellers now have direct accounts with the toy companies that in turn everyone relies on. Guys like cousin paul for example are now on godmode tier. Enjoy it while it lasts. The great selloff has already started. Im glad i only buy my favorites now. Worst part of the decline are the completists not being able to sell their complete collections. Those dinosaurs leaving the hobby killed it for all of us. They were buying everything that came out. I know because i was one with the star wars toys. Now people buy selectively and only what they want and at the price point they want. People that got in the hobby to make money as they saw happening in the sports card market were left dissapointed. The ones left behind are only buying limited edition items now. The recent black card parallel in the colliseum line could start a new trend but it could also put the final nail in the coffin. I noticed there will be 3 slick color variations from zombie heels & faces line. I really hope mattel doesnt try doing the same. The remaining wwe completists now collect the superstars and retro lines. They are the glue that holds the hobby together. Lose them and it all goes downhill. The sports card market today suffers from too many parallels. The toy industry is hopefully learning from that and not going down that same road for a quick buck.

I wanted to pick up another of these warriors for a custom but for god sake can we stop getting these released warriors over and over?
We barely seem to get new warrior figs anymore, they’ve rereleased like 8 of his figs in the last couple years.

I feel like so many people on here think I have the mindset of "I got this expensive toy, and I don't want you to have it," but it's not like that. If the roles were reversed (which I tried to explain with my Kurt Angle brawler analogy), I would say "Ah, you got that Kurt Angle brawler? That's awesome. I hope I can add that to my collection one day." And I could add it one day if I save my money, or sell some figures, or trade, etc. I think it adds value (not just monetarily) to that person's collection and makes it different than mine. It is not fun to see every person have the same set of figures. I like seeing other pictures of people's collections and saying, "Wow, that guy has such and such Marvel Legends figure. That's cool." Does that make sense? If your just looking at sheer volume, than its borderline a hoard. But if you look at not just the quantity, but the quality of your pieces, then it makes it a collection. The rereleases take away from the quality by diminishing the rare pieces (obviously the quality of the figure is higher with the updates but that's not the quality I am talking about). That's because the people replying to you are of the mindset that everyone should be able to get everything they want all the time. they also aren't actually comprehending your position and instead are just pre-determining that you're a scalper who's being ridiculous about wanting your "garbage toys that belong in a landfill, eventually" to be worth money. It's like when you're trying to make a rational point, but people don't want to hear it so they just laugh at you and act like you're going on this crazy conspiracy rant. Or they are just stuck in their own bubble, not wanting or caring to understand what you're trying to say about all of this.

On one hand I do really like knowing that figures I have hold "Value."
There are figures I have that I know sell for a lot because of rarity, I'd probably never part with them though. I bought them because I like collecting.
But the value aside, there are figures I just want in my collection.
If they released this Kane in a normal Elite line without the "From the Vault" title, no one would consider it a re-release but rather a retooling, probably.

I have the originals of this set I want but I’ll be getting some I want in The future if they’re ones I’ve sold already and still wanna have. I understand the pushback but I’m all about the concept
