Jakks didn't have a problem with Strongbow in their Classic Superstars line. Powertown apparently isn't having an issue with Wahoo McDaniel. Figures Toy Company released both of them in their Legends of Wrestling 2000-2001 line?  I just don't see the issue with Jay Strongbow. I mean Nikolai Volkoff was Croatian not Russian and neither was either Ivan or Nikita Koloff. |

As I recall, a single person made a stink about it online and that's why it ended up being pulled. same with mania 23 RVD Yep. Lesnartime on Instagram is the one who Karen’ed that RVD. Meanwhile he has no issues creating customs of Chris Benoit and was super defensive when someone called him out on the double standard. |

Ah maybe that’s what I was thinking about…Or perhaps it happened with both. about an Al Snow figure in the 90s and it became national news. So big they made it a storyline. One last comment. I am sure that many actors who portrayed a Native American in Film/Television were probably not even Indian and this is Sports Entertainment. Second Jay Strongbow is a favorite of mine, I hope Mattel feels bad that they yanked a figure that now costs $2,500 on ebay just to appease some woke whiner. For years Jason Alexander portrayed an Italian on Seinfeld and I'm not mad at all. Remember the immortal Mr Spock "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one."

The thing about Strongbow, is that his gimmick wasn't even demeaning or any type of negative stereotype. He portrayed a proud and strong Native American. He portrayed this in a fictional space, it's not like he was doing anything damning to people in real life.
I find Shad and JTG's work much more offensive.

Also despite this being a one shot deal, when they see the sales generated from this it will be at least a quarterly online offering. The fact that there is already a name; Legends of the Territories is a giveaway. I really think this is a great offering and Mattel does get the license again in 2026.

I hope that clown has changed his handle then. And agree with the poster regarding C.T. being more offensive, potentially, to others. And it’s not even close. Just off the top of my head, Eugene is probably the only gimmick I can think of where I would understand some outcry. Maybe Val? But we did get a pimp without issue. |
