The announcement on Mattel Creations was definitely a surprise. What are some the possibilities we could see with this if it becomes a line? With the UWF belt seen online, we might get a 2nd set
Who's signed, unsigned, or some FTIL we might see? Might we get a Mid South rookie Shawn Michaels? Could we finally get a Bruiser Brody which might be a better fit for this line than a retail line? Are the Von Erichs still signed? Could we see Mattel take the line as far back as stars of the 50s and 60s like Lou Thesz or Buddy Rogers. Im Loving the possibilities with this line.

Some of the different people we could potentially see would be the Blackjacks, a return of Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, Bob Backlund, and who knows what else, This is something I've been wanting for forever and now absolutely love!

Bob Backlund would be a great fit for this line.
Personally, a Wild Samoans re-release with the tag belts would be a dream for me and I can't imagine would be hard to do (Outside of maybe the belts).
There are a fair number of FTIL figures that would be perfect for this line, except it would infuriate people you have to buy the whole 4-pack to get them.
Putting the Von Erichs out again in the near future would be a great idea.
There's a LOT they can do with this, I just hope the execution is supurb.

Dusty, Andre, Backlund, Slaughter and Lawler seem like some safe bets. Maybe Patterson and Briscoe

There’s tons of ideas that can be done with this line. The next pack I’d like (probably won’t happen) would be an early 80s Road Warriors with the studded vests, gauntlets, and neck pieces instead of their shoulder pads and then the otherside side of the pack could be the midnight express or Arn and Tully.
I’d love to see the Von Erich’s released here as well as see some Japanese talent. Late 80’s mullet Great Muta paired with Flair would be great. Imagine if Triple H is able to get Kobashi, Kawada, Misawa, and Akiyama into the Hall of fame and get some merch for them. (Insane wishful thinking)

Look at this awesome mini roster of your suggestions:
Adrian Street Andre the Giant Antonio Inoki Arn Anderson The Blackjacks Bob Backlund Bruiser Brody Buddy Rogers Dusty Rhodes The Great Muta Hiro Matsuda Jack Brisco Jerry Brisco Jerry “The King” Lawler Jun Akiyama Kenta Kobashi Lou Thesz The Missing Link Mitsuharu Misawa Ric Flair Rikidozan The Road Warriors Sgt Slaughter Shawn Michaels (Mid-South) Tatsumi Fujinami Toru Tanaka Toshiaki Kawada Tully Blanchard The von Erichs The Wild Samoans
I would collect whoever they make, but I would love to also see Pedro Morales, Andy Kaufman, The Koloffs, Dory Funk Jr, Stan Hansen, Gorgeous George, Verne Gagne, The Sheik, Wahoo McDaniel, Ivan Putski, Stu Hart, Jesse Ventura, The Fabulous Freebirds and managers like The Grand Wizard.

The 90s AJPW guys dont really fit in with the concept imo...tho, I know some of those guys cut their teeth in the territories. Early in their careers.
I think guys like Baba,Inoki, Fujinami, Great Muta, Great Kabuki fit in better, imo.
Unlikely to happen but seeing a Dynamite Kid vs Tiger Mask set would be mindblowing lol.

It's worth keeping in mind that the usual constraints still apply - the wrestler will need a legends deal and Mattel will need to think they have enough selling power to move thousands of units. And PowerTown contacts may make some of these talents off the board.
But there are some interesting names who are or are likely signed Bob Backlund Wild Samoans Andre Piper Valentine Johnny Rodz (seems like a long shot for a figure) Ivan Putski Dusty Lawler Kaufman could make sense as a future celeb legend Jim Duggan

I really want brody and von erichs would be cool too. A dream would be a japan king of the deathmatch boxset with terry gordy, mick foley, etc. And a bunch of weapons from that tournament, nail board, barbwire boards, etc.

Mattel is cutting out the middleman here, that means more money for them. They aren't going to put 4 anchors in one set. That Ali and even 60s/70s Monsoon would be tough sells on their own. Doing these sets this way opens up alot of possibilities, and we might get guys we might not see Mattel dare put out in retail on their own in the Target legends line.

I think Powertown is (supposedly) going to cover a lot of these based on who they have signed, but that said, this line could be really good. Based on who has come before, even as a one-off, we can get a few more sets. I hope it does well and continues.

And they take like two years in between series.
