wrestlemania 2 isnt one of the more popular manias, but it was good for the time this was my 1st vhs wrestling tape as my uncle recorded it off ppv for me and i got a week later and watched a hundred times I liked the 3 venue thing as it was kinda cool seeing 3 places in one ppv and made it feel bigger that way to me Rating: C hulk vs bundy was huge for me after bundy hurting hulk on snme. i was into this fued and i loved bundy too the tag title match was AWESOME and best match on the card the battle royal was my fav match as i loved refrigerator perry and studd/andre. studd vs perry in the match was huge for me! mr.t vs piper in boxing had my interest big time as well the other matches were decent enough for the time, but the 4 matches above made it alot of fun for me to watch over and over back then

Good show. I'd rank it the same as WM1 tbh, both were similar quality for me.

Nay for me. I didnt like the 3 venues concept and man was Susan St. James TERRIBLE in the booth. ''Come on George!'' ugh
Bulldogs vs Dream Team easily wins best match at this Mania

Before the era of the WWE Network or the era of downloading or tape trading, as a kid or teenager, if I wanted to feel nostalgic for that era of wrestling then Wrestlemania 2 was the perfect coliseum video to rent to watch.
With that being said, it's not a great event over all. Out of the 3 locations for that Wrestlemania, I felt the Chicago event was my favourite one out of the three.
The battle royal and the tag team title match really sold that for me. The New York show and the LA show were both boring. I didn't care for the boxing match, or to see George Wells on a PPV event. You're telling me that Lanny Poffo couldn't appear to take a DDT from Jake and get pinned??
The LA show did have Hogan vs. Bundy which was great just based on the build up for it. But the other matches there were bad.
I feel that if the entire Wrestlemania 2 show was held at Chicago with Monsoon and Ventura doing the commentary, it would have a higher praise as a favourite to watch.

I remember getting the VHS of this, would have been sometime in 1991 or 1992. Actually, a core memory just unlocked as I started writing this! WrestleMania 2 was the last of the first eight WrestleMania's I got before WrestleMania IX came out on VHS.
This was not a favorite of mine at all. However, I remember really liking the tag match between The British Bulldogs and The Dream Team, I could not give you a reason why, I just always found it to be a fun match.
Also, before either WrestleMania VII or VIII we got this WWF Magazine special that was about the history of WrestleMania, it was an awesome magazine and I remember at the back of the magazine they had all the WrestleMania's listed with the results and it said that Jake Roberts "wrecked" George Wells. I had no freaking clue who George Wells was, but the fact the magazine said that he "wrecked" him made me want to see this match more than anything else at the time! What did that even mean? What did Jake do to this guy? I had to know! When I got the VHS and saw the match, it was nothing special at all!

Can I ask where you got the second image? This is a bit of a rant, but it drives me insane when we get pictures like this that use multiple wrestlers, but they have a wrestler from the wrong era, in the case of that image, Bret Hart! The actual WWE does it all of the time when they make their fake retro shirts, posters and whatever and it drives my OCD brain nuts! Whoever made that image is clearly a huge wrestling fan and there are a million images of an 80s Bret Hart out there so why use a 90s one??? Yes, I have problems I am well aware of that In all seriousness, I love when you post these poster like images as they are so cool to see.

An early one where they didn't have a firm grasp of what WrestleMania should be. An event far surpassing the technology of the day, and perhaps a concept too far out there. A couple highlights, tag title and cage matches are watches. Battle royal and T/Piper boxing match are spectacles. But far too many nothing matches.
WWE spread itself too thin with this outing. Bottom of the list, second to last in fact.

This was the first WM I ever watched, I saw it in 1987 when it was shown on TV here in Australia. I was mezmerised for sure. The tag title match was epic, the Battle Royal was something else, and I was genuinely worried Bundy would beat Hogan for the tag title. I popped when Corporal Kirchner intercepted Blassie's cane and whacked Nikolai... I was scared when Jake the Snake was "murdering" George Wells with a snake. I remember being a bit bored by the boxing match, though. This was like a year after the event took place, well before internet was a household thing, and well before I discovered wrestling magazines which kind of kept me up to date. Strangely enough, I think the next WM I saw was IV, as video stores started getting in tapes from around the first Survivor Series onward here. Would be 6 months after the fact, but WM4 became the favourite for a while (was a double VHS rental as well... massive!). I never saw WM3 until quite a number of years later when I discovered a copy of it from a local Cash Converters (retail chain pawn shop) and it was literally someone's home copy they recorded off the TV (I live in Western Australia and the copy was recorded in Queensland on the other side of the country, it had commercials and everything!). But anyways, WM2, if you were there for it (or kinda there on delay like I was), was yay for it's time. Rewatches aren't kind, though. It's a bit eh nowadays but we have so much to compare it to. At the time, it definitely was a cool show.

It was okay, but not one of my favorites. Like tmnt316 said, probably the worst of the single digit WrestleMania's - it's between 2 and 9 for that honor.

Good memories of this one. My first WM purchase was WM 5. I saw WM 8 as it was on sky a month or so after that. I then rented WM 1 &3 from my local video shop. Then I bought 4 as it was a double tape. Wrestlemania 2 seemed to be one that it took a good couple of years being a wrestling fan before I got around to watching it.
As an event it’s not the greatest but looking back through nostalgic glasses, it’s a yay for me. Still remember the excitement of eventually getting the tape. Really enjoyed the main event, the boxing match was something different (but in a good way).
My biggest gripe with the event was the clown on commentary that kept saying “uh-oh”.

This is me with WrestleMania IX. I know the event is one of the worst in the history of the show, but the nostalgia overload is strong for me as this was when I first was introduced to the WWF so it has a special place in my heart. WrestleMania 2 on the other hand is one that I feel is particularly weak especially when compared to the other WrestleManias from that early era.

LOL I was at the one in Chicago and it was on a Monday night! It felt like an elevated house show to me and watching the stuff from NYC and LA was cool. It was funny that everyone was cheering for Piper during the boxing match.
Definitely the tag match was the best of the night.

The one's in between were all pretty enjoyable.
