well another new gen era mania during these changing times. wrestling was gettin hot, ufc was blowing up. fun times for me back then! i feel its a decent event, but i cannot stand the main event. id rather watch hulk vs sid or lt vs bigelow or taker vs sid from other manias then ever waste my life watching that boring hour long match. after a half hour an no falls some of my friends left during the match, and my dad went to bed. there was 3 of us left. card still had alot of star power and felt like a mania to me still, but lack of matches drops it a notch! Rating - C Matches: worst mania main event in history IMO. BORING is an understatement! taker vs diesel was good for a big man match. but i luv both so! piper vs goldust was best match on the card imo. cool match! loved how it went throughout the show. i was REALLY into to both guys and piper is a top 5 fav of mine LOVED & i mean LOVED warrior coming back and destroying HHH 6-man tag was a good match and i luv all the wreslers involved austin vs savio was a good match but i didnt care at all for savio vega huckter vs nacho man was hilarious tag title opener was boring to me as i really dont like either team so whats the thoughts on wm12 folks!

Yay for this one. I liked both Bret and Shawn, and I enjoyed the main event. Diesel/Taker was also a good match. So too was the Piper/Goldust match. And, like you, I really liked the return of the Ultimate Warrior and his squashing of HHH.

Sixth worst overall, bottom three worst of pre-2003 Manias for me, but not for the reasons that are typically said. I really enjoy the Ironman Match. The rest of the show was the pits though. A one-match card with so little starpower. A returning Warrior for a squash, a returning Piper for a poorly-aged cinematic beat down, a rundown Jake Roberts, and an unhealthy Zuna. Blatant misrepresentation on the shirt I have for this lol.

Not a favourite of mine. I liked the 6-man tag and Warrior/HHH but the main event ruined it for me.

In all honesty, I think I've only ever seen it one time, from my friend's VHS recording of it that we watched through the day after. We may even have skimmed through much of the card for the main event. It "felt" better than 11 for the most part, but it hadn't captivated me enough to invest in the home video later for repeat watchings. Warrior being at a WWF PPV felt a bit surreal in 1996. I knew from the whole build-up that Michaels was going to end up going over against Bret which was a bit of a downer for me, but I was amazed they didn't use any pinfalls at all. The ending was kind of bullcrap to pull out that overtime aspect from nowhere, without even the slightest mention of the possibility beforehand, but it works long-term in giving Bret more reason to vanish from TV screens for a while (or vanish from the WWF full-time if he hadn't re-signed later in 1996). I've never really decided whether it was just egos driving the lack of pinfalls or if they (and Paterson) genuinely thought it was a good angle that would hold people's attention, believing that that one decisive pinfall could arrive at any moment. Vince should really have pulled rank on them and told them that he didn't want an whole hour of his biggest show pass by without a single pin, but I guess he only cares about the pre-show hype and the buyrate and on paper you had to be hyped about the prospect of the match. They really should have just wrestled a normal match and had it go long if they needed these two to fill up a big portion of the show. They could have stretched it with a false finish and Monsoon ordering a restart that riles Bret and ended up in the same place anyway.
In hindsight, I wish they would have gotten around to their big title showdown at Survivor Series 94. I think that was when their relationship was still on even keel and Michaels' dickish antics behind the scenes weren't yet quite as poisonous as they would become, plus they were both in optimal form and at a good age. I like their Survivor Series 1992 match, but I thought Shawn was not yet at the top level at that time, whereas it felt like Bret had already ascended to the top level by the end of 1992. Only after the ladder match at WM10 did Michaels seem to really click up a few gears to me, though weirdly he was often just taking up the role of Diesel's buddy for much of the remainder of that year.

Ego played a HUGE part in the booking of the WM12 ME.

Another Nay Mania overall
SSeries 92 Bret/HBK> WM XII Bret/HBK
Taker's best Mania match in the 90s with Diesel
Warrior's return was a cool moment
The OJ footage used in the parking lot brawl match was cringe as hell but you can never go wrong with a crazy Hot Rod

I have said since I saw this event live that the iron man match was such a let down. Ten minutes of excitement and 50 plus of slow boring stuff.
HBK 100 percent in my opinion needed to take the first fall and then be chasing Bret the rest of the match, but no way his ego would have allowed for that.
A regular match of 20 to 30 minutes and these two would have torn the house down.
At the time of WrestleMania XII I was in high school and my friend group were all huge wrestling fans and we all had predictions on what the score would be and not one of us predicted 0 0.
Diesel Vs Undertaker is awesome and Undertakers first really good WrestleMania match. The Hollywood Brawl was nuts and kind of fun.
My major highways the return of The Ultimate Warrior, I know not everyone is a fan, but I was not disappointed one bit in his return.

Have Bret get the first fall maybe around the 20β25-minute mark, now for Shawn to win, he has to get two falls on Bret which seems unlikely - adds more drama. Shawn finally gets the fall, maybe gets it around the 45-minute mark. Then the last 15 minutes is them both trying to get the next fall that would be the winner. Pretty much have it go down the same way with Shawn being locked in the sharpshooter as the time expires. Then do the overtime with Shawn winning.

I still think Bret vs HBK was a good match but it could have been a legit classic. Imagine a 30 minute showdown.

Bret vs Hbk would have a better response if it had gone 60 minutes or whatever WITHOUT it being a announced 60 minute match

Undertakers 1st good WM match here.
I've said it before.. if they'd have just turned Bret & Shawn loose for 30 minutes at a high tempo it would have been incredible but instead we got 45 minutes of restholds & stalling. See Steamboat vs Rude for more evidence of this at Beach Blast 92
Warriors return was cool briefly but man it lost its shine quickly.

Egh - I give it a C.
I like Bret/HBK more than others, but there are better Iron Man matches. Diesel/Taker had no right being as entertaining as it was, but Iβd put it towards the middle of Takerβs WM matches. Razor not being on the show hurt as well.
