Happy because they won't have a job? Is that what I said? Why don't you go back and re-read it. They will surely need fewer people on the road, fewer truck drives, fewer crew (both company employee and local). Yes, while the few that will still be around to set up/tear done can get the job done quicker, they won't be needed as much or will fill the gaps for other employees' whose jobs can be cut. This is all for the money, just wanted to remind us of why this is happening. Its intention is not to make employees live any easier.

To the people saying they hate this, OK, yeah, I get that you hate losing the "biggness" feel of the massive stage. But, the stage. Was a screen. That's all it was. There was no actual set and hadn't been for a very long time. It was just an oversized screen set up that people walked out of. Not saying what they did tonight was any fancier but the idea that what they had going on for the past 3 years or so even constitutes an actual "stage" is pretty silly. The giant Smackdown fist? THAT was a stage. BigGiantScreen that half the time they obscure with augmented reality anyway? That's not a stage. It has no character to it. Bring back stages people can be thrown off of or through. I wanna see dudes slugging it out on a stage like it’s 20 years ago.

There’s a difference between “make as much money as possible and crave infinite growth like the zombies craving brains in ‘Return of the Living Dead’” and “make enough money to be successful while creating jobs so that the economy’s wheels keep turning.” The latter is crucial for a capitalist society to keep functioning. The former leads to an inevitable scenario where the bottom drops out where resources are exploited to depletion and most jobs are replaced by machines and A.I. to the point where unemployment grows out of control and societies collapse and nations wage war over resources. Edit: This is insane ranting and I do apologize for it.

If the prices for Clash at the Castle are anything to go by, they are definitely aiming for the first. WWE can smell the blood in the water with it's competition and is already demanding that monopoly money.

I think there are a couple key points that a lot of people aren't seeing with this change;
* Every episode of every show looked exactly the same. Same stage, same entrance ramp, same screen, same graphics. They barely even played up what city they were in. It was just "RAW" every week. Looking at the same thing every week (for THREE HOURS) gets boring. I think WWE is now (wisely) trying to get away from having it look like the exact same thing every week after week after week. I also noticed that they're doing the backstage interviews in different areas of the arena (one I saw had city trophies behind them). Again, this adds local flavor and personality to the show. It doesn't feel like the exact same thing I saw last week.
* Anyone subscribing to Peacock basically gets the PPV's for free. We aren't paying $60-80 for a PPV like we used to back-in-the-day. What distinguished the PPV's from RAW? They were pretty much just like an "extra" show. RAW had a huge screen, and so did the PPV's. Just different graphics? Save the "BIG" set/screen for the PPV's so that they feel special - "BIGGER" - than the regular shows. It's hardly the "Grandest Stage of them All" when the weekly RAW stage is pretty much just as big. I do miss when they used to design a unique set every month for the PPV. Remember Backlash, Unforgiven? Feels like they are moving in that direction again.

As a Shane fan in the 90s and early 2000s, you started to keep an eye on the stage designs because if you saw a PPV set that looked remotely climbable, you knew he was taking to the sky. Now, there's nothing TO climb. If you wanna jump off the set, you either have to parkour it (like Kevin did on Raw), hope that someone left a scaffolding nearby (like Shane and Miz), or have a situation where there's a ladder that just happens to be attached for one reason or antother (Like Kevin at Wrestlemania). That said, the way that according to rumors, Kevin was supposed to jump off the pirate ship in 2020 (then had to settle for the stage), and then when 2021 came around both Shane AND Kevin wanted to jump off it, but there was no way to make it work (plus the rain made it dangerous)... like, why are my two biggest guys "The guys who jump off sh*t", maybe I have an attraction to acrophiliacs or something.

Shane was always a favorite to watch. As kids we tried to replicate his Coast 2 Coast dropkick from one side of the pool to the other. One of us would come running in while the other would do their best to stay standing atop an inflatable raft lol. Great times. I really thought he was dead when he jumped onto Big Show from god knows how many feet in the air off the scaffolding. Granted I was only 8-9 at the time Side Note: Backlash 2001 had one of the coolest sets I've seen to this day.

The noise his head made still haunts me.

I don't mind a smaller stage but at least make it interesting. They can all be screens, I don't care, but do something to make it stylish, like layered panels, curves, angles, etc. do something than just a flat ass screen

We need actual stages and not some boring ol LED screen with a title on it. I miss actual sets and looking forward to the PPV stages. I’m also not a fan of the advertisement on the barricades and ring.
