Ruthless, not useful lol. But this phone has a mind of its own and I'm afraid to hit edit and have the phone delete half the message.

Yeah I'm not quoting all that. Lol homeboy made some good points, but I also never said that winning is "all that matters".

Running with the above example, that is exactly what's now happened and what Ospreay/Danielson are setting up. Ospreay "hurt" Danielson with the Tiger Driver '91. He then "didn't see" the ref call for doc and nailed a hidden Blade to put Danielson away. Post show conference Ospreay apologizes to Danielson for that and says he's retiring the Tiger Driver '91. Tk says Bryan is likely fine. Now the next time they meet (and they've set it up for there to be a next time) the story is about if Ospreay approaches the match more cautiously, and if it costs him against Bryan, who will likely be useful enough to use the Tiger Driver himself for the win or a similarly dangerous move. Even beyond the Bryan matches, ospreay now has a story built into every match going forward about when he's going to feel desperate enough to break the glass on the move again. Hangman had a not super dissimilar story about the deadeye when it failed to beat Jericho, and he didn't use the move again for like two years until he felt confident enough to hit it again and would setup the buckshot with it. Okada stopped using the Rainmaker for like a year and won everything with the money clip. Point being I think when these top guys are really on their game, we see stories play out in the ring much like the above hockey example, and Danielson/Ospreay did exactly that. Yes and no. It played out in the ring, but the story also continued into the press conference as you also mentioned there. That's where they are stepping outside of the, "let the matches tell the story" mentality and going to the, "let's add a story by including some intrigue/twists/drama OUTSIDE of the match" mentality. Laying it out the way you just did there with Ospreay perhaps being a little apprehensive next time because of what he did this time, and then building on that and going forward is more interesting than, "you used to be the best but I'm younger and I'm better and I'll prove it in the ring." It's more interesting than just, "you may be the best in Japan but I'm the best in America and I'll prove it in the ring." The story you just created right there is better than most of what Tony Khan is able to come up with.

Matches I enjoyed most
Okada/Pac - solid match Storm/Rosa – Maybe Storm's best this current run. Ospreay/Danielson - No doubt MOTN/possibly year but just can't say it's the greatest match of all time like some are.

Very good show, literally everything except acclaimed vs Bullet Club and Jericho and Hook was good to excellent.
Now i remember a few years ago when Jericho said he would wrestle til he wasn’t at the highest level anymore….well Chris…
At this point he would get more heat by letting Hook squash him, leave tv for two months, cost Hook the belt and have a cage match at double or nothing
This pitch of “I’ll take his family’s belt” we know how this goes, jericho just kicks his ass left and right for two months and then at double or nothing hook may or may not get his win back clean but still looking like a chump for two months straight…stop me if you have heard this before

I sometimes wonder how Jericho’s legacy would look had he hung it up after losing to Kevin Owens at 33.

Having Jericho still winning titles and not putting guys over isn't like having Sting winning the tag titles and going undefeated in AEW, but I feel like some in AEW have convinced themselves it is.
He's a true legend, and there's a place for him still, but I'm not sure why they'd have him beat Hook unless it's to pad Jericho's career stats.
Maybe there's some long-term storytelling they're doing, though. And he can't lose all the time or else beating him means nothing for the guy who goes over.

Maybe it’s me not enjoying Ospreay much, but while it was a good match no doubt… his match with Danielson didn’t do much for me. I actually enjoyed Okada/PAC more… and I think Okada is extremely overrated.
I dunno.

Why do you think Jericho has been given the FTW title? Because Jericho wants to think he's still the main reason that people tune into this crapshow? And he wants to be the one to hold all the titles he can everywhere so he can give himself another nickname for a t-shirt that won't sell.

I thought the match was good, but definitely not top 5. Probably not even top 5 of Bryan matches for me at least.
