With the news of his commentary contract coming to a close, safe to say with his health these days we wont be seeing em no more on TV
Really enjoyed the run he had. His feud with Bret in 93 was to me the best feud for the Federation that year. But the main thing will always be his run in the booth. Great with Vince during the NG era and such and iconic run with JR during the AE era. To me the last great duo they had
Didnt care for em as a babyface as his run went on in the 00s but still was nice to have em around in the role. To me will always be #3 behind Jesse/Bobby

One of the best. 97-04 is when I enjoyed him the most. I think he went face in 05 but I loved his heel stuff throughout the New Gen, Attitude, early Ruthless eras.

Yup Lawlers run was great...few blips but not many IMHO. I really wanted him & Flair to square off in a PPV grudge match during Flairs 02-08 run...I wanted that BAD

He had a great run. I liked his stuff with Bret. And, he was really good at Survivor Series 94, pretty much made that entire match he was in. He was really entertaining on the announce team; he really seemed to enjoy all those segments with the divas...

absolutely one of the few real ALL ROUNDERS always enjoyed the realism, I remember when I first saw him (grew up in Attitude Era) outside of WWE cutting promos or interviews and was like "why does he sound like that??? (normal voice, polite)"
- promoter - Wrestler - commentator - artist etc
but............ his time was long overdue, nothing worst than having old fellers still 'working' and taking spots that they would have loved to have when starting out, see JR he is slowly tarnishing his brand imo, can you be the best and worst ever at the same time??

When it comes to Jerry Lawler, Doug Gilbert said it best..... ha ha ha just kidding!
I liked the King. I used to watch USWA wrestling in 1990 from Texas so that's when I first saw the King, and when he showed up on WWF TV in December 1992 I was so shocked!
His commentary with Vince was great as was the commentary he did with Jim Ross.
I always felt he would have made a great European Champion at least one time in the WWF back in the late 90s. Then he could have said he had at least a title reign in the WWF.

Not something most people bring up, but I really enjoyed his short feud with Punk in 2012. Their cage match was fun based on what I remember. The Heyman faking a heart attack thing was some real old school heat too.

Big fan of his stuff with Bret. That shot with his crutch he gives him at SummerSlam 93 across the head still makes me wince.
He and JR were absolute gold together and a blast.

Terrible babyface run in the mid 2000s, I stopped caring for him at that point, his jokes and comments at times were cringey. However, loved him during the New Generation era and on commentary during the attitude era.

I did love on an episode of Raw in 1994 when he had Diesel on the King's Court and he was trying to remember his nickname but couldn't...
"Can I call ya... do ya think I can call ya... Cool Daddy??" - Jerry Lawler
"Yeah, you can call me Big Daddy Cool, King." - Diesel

Aways loved Lawler, and he’s every bit as important as JR was to the company during the 90s and 00s. He came off as more “real” than most other announcers, and his feud with Bret gave us a few classic moments.

His feud with Bret in 1993 was fantastic, even if the company dragged on their entanglement way too long over the next two years. He was a good heel commentator, but lacked the wit of Heenan and he didn't put whatever match he was talking about over as well so a downgrade in that respect.
Ironically, one of my favourite Heenan quips came during that Bret/Lawler Summerslam match when Lawler is protesting before that he can't possibly wrestle because he's been in a car accident caused by "A little old lady who came out of nowhere..." and Heenan drops in "... probably Helen Hart".

Still laugh at when Lawler comes out on crutches Bobby is like'' Oh My God I forgot to tell ya about this McMahon'' in a somber voice Then when he whacks Bret with the crutch He's like ''its a miracle!'' LOL just gold

Would have been cool to have em win another belt over the last 25 years.

His rivalry with Bret was incredible and probably the hottest feud in wrestling in 1993.
Their whole segment/match - even including the Doink stuff - at SummerSlam is just 100% classic pro wrestling entertainment at its finest. Lawler had nuclear heat and the fans just wanted to see Bret beat the crap out of him.
