I absolutely hate them, is this really the best option they have to make the legs move further?

I give them credit for trying something different but like others have stated it turns a solid piece into a fragile one and makes it much easier for the figure to break, plus if you use them it’s makes the figure look awkward with that gap there

I just got the latest Cena Ultimate and regret getting it. Almost any leg movement makes it pop out of place, and it’s just not fun to move around. I think I’m going to pass on Ultimates moving forward. I’ll put the new headscan on an old Ultimate without the drop down hips for now.

Drop down hips are an unnecessary over-articulation that will wear out over time amd adds little to no increased range.

Yes!
If Khali can't be made because he never did a split, then drop-down hips can't make Bret Hart high kick like a cheerleader.
