With SummerSlam in 2026 being a two night show, also with WM being a two night show every year since 2020, it got me thinking...what if WWE/WWF did it back then?
Would you guys have liked it? I know many hated WM2s layout, but I do believe that this newer concept would be very successful back then.
Look at WM18 for example, many loved Hogan vs Rock & wanted it to main event the show, many others hated HHH vs Jericho, so I'd say that if WM18 was a two night thing then we could have gotten two main events right there.
You guys agree or naaa? I'd say WM18 would have really benefited from it plus you could either add more matches or give the existing matches more time.

Iām not a fan of 2-night shows, and donāt think this would have helped WM18. HHH/Jericho was a terrible feud and nothing was going to save the match outside of it going on before Hogan/Rock (and even then HHH/Jericho have had plenty of better matches than this one).

With the talent roster you could book a really good two night Wrestlemania in 2002, but given what Vince gave us, thereās a good chance both nights would have been pretty meh.

Nothing would have topped Hogan vs Rock.
Plus, Jericho and HHH gets talked about because it was a bad feud which it was, Jericho looked like a chump as champ. However, it is often overlooked that it was actually a really boring match! These two had some great matches before such as the one of RAW where Jericho "won" the title and their last man standing match at Fully Loaded 2000. Both of those matches were far more exciting than what we got at WrestleMania X8. People like to say the crowd was dead after Hogan vs Rock, but after watching WrestleMania X8 again recently, I had forgotten than Jericho and HHH straight up had a bad match. If they had a more exciting match the crowd would have probably been into it.

You have the NWO debut a month earlier at the Royal Rumble, with Hogan winning when Jericho costs Triple H the match in fear that Triple H is going to win and take his title. Austin beat Jericho at No Way Out thanks to Triple H getting revenge on Jericho. Then you run Triple H vs Jericho in a street fight main eventing on Night 1 andAustin vs Hogan main eventing for the WWF title on Night 2. My ādreamā two night Wrestlemania X8 card with winners:
Night 1
Intercontinental Championship: RVD vs Regal (C) Kurt Angle vs Curt Hennig Booker T vs DDP Hardcore Championship: Maven (C) vs Al Snow vs Taz The Dudley Boys vs The Hardy Boys Ric Flair vs The Rock Street Fight: Triple H vs Chris Jericho
Night 2
European Championship: Edge vs Christian (C) Womenās Championship: Jazz (C) vs Trish vs Lita Brothers Of Destruction vs The Outsiders Tag Team Championship: APA vs Billy And Chuck (C) Big Show vs Mike Awesome* WWF Championship: Stone Cold (C) vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan
In this made up dream card, Mike Awesomes actually been booked like a real threat and beats the Big Show.

i think wm4 woulda been a good 2 night event
1st night (2 hr event):
battle royal IC title match 6-man tag match -lots of build up for tomm tournament warrior vs herc tag title match
2nd night (3 hr event): all the tournament matches
this way the matches could all hav went longer both nights and got proper time to be even better. maybe put savage/steamboat 2nd round rematch in there as well!

Hate to be that guy because I really do enjoy a good technical wrestling match, but this event absolutely needed some kind of TLC match.
Rock versus Hogan is absolutely incredible and probably the only reason to ever rewatch the event. However, everything else was just so damn forgettable on the card especially when you consider that it was sandwiched between two bangers in WrestleMania X7 and WrestleMania XIX.

Nothing could have saved that main event aside from a complete reversal of booking.
Crowd didn't care about the feud

Nothing could have saved that main event aside from a complete reversal of booking. Crowd didn't care about the feud One of the worst main events in WrestleMania history. When the defending champ is the "plus one" of the feud you've screwed up big time. I love HHH, but his main event track record on the big stage is not the greatest. Don't think I've ever fully woken up from being in attendance for that WrestleMania 25 stinker versus Orton. š“

That match was doomed to suck regardless because of the lame booking, but the fact that they had to follow an all-time classic like Hogan/Rock gave them absolutely no shot in hell.

WrestleMania X8 as a 2 night event could have worked. With 3 hours per show, we can give each match 20 minutes, and still have an hour for backstage interviews, in-ring segments, Hardcore Title changes, etc.
Night 1 - Night of Legends
Rikishi,Ā Scotty 2 Hotty, andĀ AlbertĀ vs.Ā Mr. Perfect,Ā Lance StormĀ andĀ Test
Kurt AngleĀ vs.Ā Kane
The UndertakerĀ vs.Ā Ric Flair
EdgeĀ vs.Ā Booker T
Steve AustinĀ vs.Ā Scott HallĀ (w/Ā Kevin Nash)
The RockĀ vs.Ā Hollywood Hulk Hogan
Night 2 - Night of Champions
WWF Hardcore Champion, Maven vs.Ā Goldust (Sprinkle in the other 4 Hardcore Championship Title changes between the other matches)
WWF European Champion, Diamond Dallas PageĀ vs.Ā ChristianĀ
WWF Intercontinental Champion, William RegalĀ vs. Rob Van Dam
WWF Tag Team Champions, BillyĀ andĀ ChuckĀ vs.Ā The APAĀ (BradshawĀ andĀ Faarooq) vs. The Dudley BoyzĀ (Bubba RayĀ andĀ D-Von Dudley) vs.Ā The Hardy BoyzĀ (MattĀ andĀ Jeff Hardy) in a Four Corners Elimination Match
WWF Women's Champion, Jazz vs.Ā LitaĀ vs.Ā Trish StratusĀ in a Triple Threat Match
WWF Undisputed Champion, Chris Jericho (w/Ā Stephanie McMahon) vs. Triple H

The HHH vs Jericho feud was very short sighted by Vinnie.
It hurt HHH as a babyface. It Hurt Y2J as a credible ME heel
HHH vetoing the romantic angle between Jericho & Steph killed off any drama the angle may have had totally. Nobody gave a crapabout this angle and it wasn't even getting good pops on TV.
so weird to look back on......

Bad storyline, no heat, just lame stuff overall. Hogan vs Rock needed to headline it.
