Even if it appeared at Ollie's for 20 I'd be somewhat hesitant to pick it up.

I want that Rock figure however I’m not spending $70 for it. I don’t understand the PRE golden era hype that seems to be happening on these boards recently.

I picked it up the other day because why not and I am very pleased with it. The Rock might be my favorite of his in my collection, The High Chief looks great on the shelf, and Rocky Johnson even as a weak link is still a very nice figure.
"Because why not" perfectly describes how I feel about this set -- and think the OP is right that it won't sell well.

I haven’t been to any stores lately but the Bash At The Beach 96 babyface three pack rotted hard over by me. I think I was still seeing it a year after it hit.

The Rock elite looks really nice but I not going to buy that set just for the Rock. I already own both Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson from the Jakks Classic Superstars set and that's enough.

The worst three pack ever? I don't know. Its still way too soon. But it isn't moving that well in my area. I think when it first hit my store I was surprised to see them all gone by the next day; but they've been restocked and haven't moved much since. There's roughly 15 or so Walmarts in NJ that I've hit up and the things I consistently see are this 3 pack, basics and the Austin monster truck. I've only ever seen MNW wave 2 once and the MNW Ultimates once as well.
I've passed on it because as cool as the Rock figure is, I don't need his dad or grandfather. I just don't care. They don't fit any shelf I have. I don't know if I'd even buy this at $30 tbh.

It's quickly become a staple on the shelves of my local stores. $70 is steep too.
If walmart doesn't deep discount them then they'll be like all the old AEW figures and just stay there.

The TNF 3 packs warmed pretty hard. Shield eventually sold out quickly after they went on clearance but the BATB pack still lingered for a while even at $15-20. Milk O Mania also warmed extremely hard.

I really want the Peter Maivia, especially as it’s a ‘territory era’ figure and I also want Rocky Johnson as I sold my original one when I regretfully sold my original collection. I’m building my collection up again now. That Rock, I can take or leave.

I believe it sold well at first but most Walmart's around me restocked multiple times and now it's going to sit unfortunately.

I might get it when they clearance it, but I’m not paying full price for that. They really should have sold Rocky Johnson and The High Chief as singles. Three packs are hard to sell because no parent is buying their kid that, and I don’t think the “Maivia Legacy” is a must have for adult collectors either.
For 3 packs to sell, you gotta stick with the big topics like DX, nWo,….an ECW pack would probably sell well. Imagine a Sandman, RVD and Paul E Dangerously pack,…
