Most certainly, even being in the UK, we're lucky to get some independent online stores stocking them. Albeit, at a higher price than a regular elite just collecting legends and not current talent, makes it justifiable for myself.

I still think the Jakks Classic Series was fantastic - loved the packaging, it stayed consistent through the whole line, and the variety of names/stars JAKKS did with that line. I think Mattel Legends is probably on-track to exceed JAKKS Classics..... but they're not there yet. But I am a big fan/collector of both lines. Pretty much this. The jakks classics/superstars went deep and included names we have not even seen mattel release like giant gonzalez. Legends is currently the best line of big figures due to their availability and pricepoint (most can be found at clearance prices). I too collect mainly both lines besides the retros and colliseum collection which are also good candidates for best-of but legends has far surpassed them in the amount of wrestlers made. If every line could be released like legends than we would all be very happy. Then again if everything could be released at target, creations and ringside.... The problem is with the other retailer exclusives.... Until that changes i will stick with the big 3 i mentioned. With age i have become less willing to drive around for hours looking for a needle in a haystack but i have also become more unwilling to buy on ebay from resellers as they keep the cycle going. One thing is for sure mattel knows that only the old school wrestlers move as opposed to aew or next, etc which is why i believe they should get rid of chase figures so collectors can rid the hobby of resellers who just raise the prices on us all. Yokozuna should not have a chase for example. Just include both tunics in the packaging for us to use. |

If toy lines were a ballplayer, Legends would be Acuña (though I am a diehard Rangers fan through and through). Total 5 tools at its finest. Legends are readily available, will be restocked, packaged well, relevant, and not difficult to find a chase. Props to Mattel and Target for these!

It was a different company, different time, different ballgame but the CS was & is the ultimate collector friendly line … it will never be matched in terms of the legendary names that were molded into plastic within just a few short years

Legends hasn't a prayer of beating CS in terms of character selection....but its a great line in its own right and has given us(and is giving) some highly requested wants of mine.

The Jakks Classic Superstars line was the best line to collect and was distributed far better than Mattel especially here in Australia. Also the packaging was more uniform and we got superstars that obviously Mattel won't be making.

For current day collecting, the Legends series is definitely the best. That Jakks Classic Superstars era was special though. You could walk into a toys R us or KB toys and just see rows of figures...man I miss those days.

In terms of Characters, nothing will ever touch the Classic Superstars line. That was just unbelievable in terms of giving you characters. But boy oh boy were some of the figures awful looking *Andre the Giant in double straps *Classic Undertaker w/ no sleeves *Miniature head Yokozuna *Whatever the hell that Kane was in the 3 Pack haha *All the Managers like Bobby Heenan and Paul Bearer being taller than the Undertaker *Whatever the hell that head was on Jimmy Valiant *Having one Nasty boy with molded on sleeves and another sleeveless *Horrendous Outfit choice for the Godfather *Tiny Old school Bossman I'm sure there are more examples I can't think of. It's a GOAT series but man some of those figures were so poorly done. Tall Bearer is one of the bad figure GOATs. Makes me laugh every time. Honestly I think the goats of bad figs as far as Jakks classic were the Rock and Roll Express that made Ricky Morton brunette and Robert Gibson blond |

Overall imo Jakks Classic is still the best line as far as depth especially for legends collectors. The Legends line is getting great though. I do love how the legends line has been giving us great kind of deep cuts and unexpected figures like Mean Mark, Miss Hancock, Final WWE Raw appearance Ultimate Warrior, Dingo Warrior, WCW AJ Styles, Paul E. Dangerously, Sultan, Big Bubba Rogers, Jim Neidhart "WHO", etc, a trend I hope that continues. But Jakks Classic had a unfair advantage because they had more freedom from WWE with their line than Mattel ever has therefore was able to have a wider talent pool that gave us Bruiser Brody, Andy Kaufman, Jesse Ventura, Killer Kowalski, Ernie Ladd, Fabulous Moolah, Ron Bass, Tony Atlas, Abdullah The Butcher, Luna Vachon, Ken Patera, Ivan Putski, Jack Brisco, Dynamite Kid, etc. However, in WWE times are changing so who knows what the future of the legends line holds.

For me it is. I didn’t start collecting figures until I saw the Mattel Legends figs in 2010. Never cared for Jakks prior to that. I get why people like them for the vast array of figs they made. They just didn’t do anything for me with all the same scale for the most part. They really seem outdated nowadays.

I’ve gotten so many wants checked off. ‘97 Taker, NOD D-Lo, Kama, Shamrock (sadly I haven’t gotten corporate blue yet, but at least it was made), WCW and Wolfpac Luger, WCW Hogan, X-Pac, Road Dogg, Chyna, 2003 Kane, the Acolytes, tons more. Even figures I wasn’t able to find in stores, I can pick them on the secondary market like DX Triple H and Billy Gunn and they won’t be insanely hard to find like the Ruthless Aggression figures.
It’s probably my favorite WWE line.

No really, I have *tried* to order these figures online but the ones I want sell out instantly and, even if I get a preorder in, it doesn't seem to stick.
I'm trying to get into legends collecting but living in the US without a Target in driving distance makes this line EXCEEDINGLY collector-unfriendly.

I think it's currently the easiest line in the US to pre-order/order online (outside of buying full elite and basic sets off of RSC) and actually receive, and the selections within the line are pretty good. If anything, I'm thankful this line has been a blueprint on how to distribute successfully to a specific fanbase so we can't really accept the runaround excuses from retailers at face value anymore.
I'm more interested to see over time what gets shoehorned in with options like the re-release lines and Mattel Creations tag-team packs also being outlets for figures that could reasonably slot into the Legends line. Thankful we at least have 4 UE spots through the year now for detailed legend looks.

Not really any toy shows on east coast Canada and when there are it's usually vendors selling whatever's at the Walmart or TRUs currently. I have one guy who scalps the nearest city I can go to but we don't have Target so we don't get the legends other than random odds and ends that show up at TRU. |
