I can see this as a cyclops homage sure. A Silverhawks homage...dont see that at all. If it was in red with those stars, I could see it being a Mon-Star (Silverhawks villain) homage. Even though its still weirdly random. Now looking at it, and it being called "animated", that's Cyclops.

It is supposed to be all of those things as I understand it. Macho Man in his Mega Power trunks wearing an outfit similar to Cyclops, with the shine of a Silverhawks figure from the 80’s. Thats my understanding at this time.

Thats my understanding at this time. Reading that and looking at the pic again (didnt realize the blue has some pearlescence going on), I can see what hes going for. But even still, the silverhawks connection is a reach. Without specifically mentioning silverhawks by name, would anyone come to the conclusion this has anything to do with them? Probably not. If hes going to do callbacks to these 80s properties, why not cast these in pink (or salmon) and make a M.U.S.C.L.E. homage? There's actually some connection there theme-wise. And i think people (familiar with m.u.s.c.l.e) would make the connection right away.

And i think people (familiar with m.u.s.c.l.e) would make the connection right away. All fair questions. He told me from the start that there would be some ideas that were really “outside the box” and he hasn’t lied to me yet! If someone were to give me an assignment and say “Chair.Shot - we want you to make a figure using four fun elements from your childhood and don’t worry about how well it would sell” I think it would be a struggle to find a way to mix all elements so that they are represented…especially without violating any copyrights. As a mental exercise, I tried it and found that I sucked at it! The best I came up with is Andre, in a Hasbro form factor, wearing a Ghostbuster flight suit, with hologram deco like they had from the Visionaries toy line. So if Latoonie is doing this for their own enjoyment, rock on. But sales-wise? That is a significant challenge.

You’re able to make Macho Man and Ric Flair figures and this is what you do? The other companies could make 50 of both and there would still be 100s of possibilities.

To hear that macho man is NOT inspired by Xmen 97/cyclops (huge cult following and current product on shelves in celebration of its anniversary), just proves my point from my earlier post.

There are only 100 made of blue macho, not a regular by any means. It might not be everyone but this is not something made in bulk either.

The costs and resources for a smaller run are much higher. If he wanted this in his personal collection he could make a custom on his own for a fraction of the price

I feel like there are too many figures going up for preorder before getting any in-hand. I get that Big Rubber Guys also had (and still has) a backlog of preorders before we started getting them in-hand, but they were already a proven trusted company with Major Bendies. This is a brand new company. Why should we keep ordering when we have yet to actually get anything to prove their worth? And some of these, like this latest Macho and undressing-Flair, are SO niche, they are practically telling their audience from the get-go: don’t be completists. Odd marketing when, I would think, they have yet to build their base audience.

My sources tell me that Flair figure either sold out or it wasn’t a serious release. Experts pundits have said that it may have been pulled for other reasons. More as this story develops. Back to you guys in the studio.

Seems a bizarre choice for a Macho Man figure.

I hope he makes a Bulldog dressed as a chicken but instead of wings he's got bazookas.

I think he should just take that Macho Man mold and sell him painted like every other popular wrestler. Macho Man mold painted in John Cena clothes, or as CM Punk Macho Man (since Punk stole his costume before). Macho Man painted up as Miss Elizabeth, but put holes in him to look like the old Centurion toys because why not?

The fact this bastardised Randy Savage is suppose to be based on a 1980s children’s cartoon is even more stupid. He’d be spinning in his grave at what’s become of his IP.
