I'm more concerned with them changing the pegs on ultimates so that torso swaps can't be simple anymore I’d love to hear the reasoning behind this decision My theory is it was changed to hinder customizers and I'll die on that hill

I think it's simply a space issue, y'all are over-thinking it. After collecting these things for years, there is soooo much that you just run out of room.
I have some of my AUTOGRAPHED Jakks stuff sideways on the shelf, I hate it but there's just not enough room. Maybe when I get a bigger house, LOL.
The OP raises valid gripe about Mattel's stuff though, the packaging is always very inconsistent. One of the things JAKKS did better, IMO. Their packaging stayed very consistent through their whole WWE contract. Mattel is all over the board with packaging. It's a minor gripe..... but it's a valid one. Do you still gain any enjoyment from them being sideways? Is it like a comfort thing knowing you have them even if you can't see them? I am very intrigued by this concept as someone who has a need to see my stuff in order to enjoy it. For me, collecting is very much a comfort thing, knowing I have it. I am not a MOC card collector (save for a few exceptions), but I have collected wrestling figures since Jakk's Classic Superstars days, and for the most part these all end up in plastic bags and in boxes, separated by wrestling company and era, for most of the year. I wlll get them out and display them at Wrestlemania for my friends that come over for the show, but for the most part, they are stored away, simply due to lack of space to display them. I am keeping the packaging from the MNW line though, and am displaying those sideways to show the dates and pictures on the side of the packages. But for me I don't have to see it, I know I have it and know what box it is in and can dig it out if I need it, and that is enough for me. But that is just me. I can understand needing to see the figure, but I don't enjoy having the figure any less by just not seeing it.

Eh, I’m more upset about the cheap ass painted on legs that should have SCULPTED biker shorts. Such a cop out and annoying detail that has NOT been addressed. No reason for the Steiners not to have sculpted biker shorts.

Just because MOC collectors display on the side, doesn’t mean they stay on the side all the time. I frequently get them out and look at them or display some front view when I get bored. The reality is though, it’s more space efficient to store them like this so these things should be considered by Mattel.
Star Wars Collectors will understand that packaging can be a big selling point too not just the figure. The black series has a really cool art montage that connects them altogether and GI Joe have a numbered system on the side.
I get that people don’t think it’s a big deal but for me as a MOC collector, these things matter, as sad as that is!

Just be happy we are getting them. I get what you are saying but if you don’t have the room to display them properly and not book style or loose then don’t buy them.

I'm not sure which torso Jake has but if it's the newer style, I know there are ways, but I think it requires a good bit of work. Not as simple as it used to be when ultimates and elites shared the same trunks peg

I am very intrigued by this concept as someone who has a need to see my stuff in order to enjoy it. I have a worse situation than this thanks to a recent divorce … It is basically a space issue … I have an extremely limited area at the moment so I have a few figures & things displayed on a wall in my room but the rest of my small Moc collection is packed in 2 big cardboard storage boxes at the foot of my bed … I go through the boxes from time to time, get them out to look at & enjoy but then they have to go back in the boxes … I hate having such limited space but it is what it is for now … they still give me enjoyment just knowing that I have them there & can see them whenever I want

From an MOC collector’s standpoint, this is why Jakks CS is one of, if not the best, best of all time.

I just wonder if any OSU fans regret their purchase. Please Mattel, do a Hurricane Rock from 2001-2.

Not gonna lie, the instant pre-order on these for me did sting a little, especially because I wanna find a way to add the Ms to the jackets. Like... it hurts. It does. I'm gonna feel so dirty displaying them in a prominent place on my shelf. Maybe I'll just leave the jackets off......

You should be able to get Letterman’s M’s at a craft store in the scrapbooking section. That’s where I got mine for the Jakks Rick Steiner. And I see they are still sold in other colors so I am sure they still make the yellow ones.

Speaking of the letterman jackets, it got me thinking about how many wrestlers had characters that really focused on their collegiate careers.

As an avid box collector, i'm fed up with Mattel putting these "Action Figures" in my boxes
