I wonder if weβll see a Keiji Muto(h) figure at some pointβ¦Did he ever wrestle in WCW that way? I think just in cross promotional matches in NJPW. I'm not that up to speed on "modern" Muta.... but what/when is this look from?

If exclusivity is the sticking point for Macho not been resigned then I don't think you will be seeing him back in the line any time soon. It looks like his estate is not interesting in signing exclusive deals, good on them I say as Macho is a license to print money- why should they be locked into an agreement with one company. If WWE wants exclusivity then they need to pay up - I would ask for double the normal fee they charge to make up for the money they stand to lost by locking themselves into a deal with one company. I suspect there may be some other reason at play here as Andre & Davey Boy Smith's estates don't do exclusive deals yet WWE has signed deals with both of them.
I don't think Macho's absence from the line is that big an issue as Mattel has made a ton of figures of him and if he was still signed we would likely be getting a ton of re-releases and only the occasional new figure (this seems to be the trend now). The big glaring omission is no Macho in the Coliseum Collection, he should have been in the 2nd or 3rd set- if he had, the figure would have been released before the deal expired. The lineup choices and pairings for this line have been strange - I thought each wave was going to have 1 big name (Hogan, Macho, Warrior, Andre) and 1 mid-carder, that seems to have been abandoned after the first wave?!

For me as an 80s and 90s collector this has been very underwhelming so far. Retros, superstars, legends, monday night wars, some cool stuff but nothing special. Not liking having to get another ring just for brother love. Thing i like most is the warrior/shango set. Not one first time in the line legend. Hoping things improve today but I'm very skeptical...

Iβm surprised they were able to do it, since itβs a NOAH attire, but I guess WWE has a working relationship with them which allows it.

I think Macho probably generates a lot more revenue through outside contracts than Davey or Andre do, but that's just speculation. Savage has everything from Slim Jim merch to his rap album that are more diversified than what Davey and even Andre have. It's also possible WWE wants the same exclusivity with Davey/Andre, but Macho's contract came up first while the others have time remaining. And then there are other variables, like the wishes of the estate. Davey's family may still rely on royalties for living expenses. Macho was making bank through the 80s and 90s, and probably still seeing strong royalties through his death. Not sure who inherited the estate, and where it stands following Lanny's passing. But they may be more willing to play hard ball and wait out WWE because they're in a better financial position. Like I said...lots of possible variables and it's all speculation. But you have to imagine sooner than later the two sides will wind up back together.

That Miss Elizabeth looks like a woman out of a Robert Crumb comic.

It's possible they signed some sort of agreement with NOAH that gives them shared rights to the footage in exchange for letting Nakamura do the match. It's also possible that "you wore this on our tv program so we own the IP" isn't a sound legal argument.

Oh, I wasn't sure if this was actually being released or just something that they cooked up for SDCC. I don't really understand the "purple" but I guess Hasbro originally released a "yellow" ring which probably didn't make a ton of sense either, so it's just a toyetic thing.

I feel like it would be really easy to come up with a head for bart gunn. Move billys mullet over to some head and sculpt a moustache Kinda looks like a mix between Morrison and a young Orton

Yeah, I think it's an homage to the yellow KOTR ring.

That legend set with Angle Muta Carlito Godfather Has to be one of the best Bonus points if they make angle or carlito the chase but knowing bill itβs gonna be Muta π Your probably right, but I was thinking it would be Godfather - that color pattern seems a little odd. And he had so many different colors.

Like you said, homage to the KOTR ring plus purple was always associated with the Rumble back then. In fact the ring makes me think of this, which used to be a prized possession of mine even though I could never beat it π
