The reason they are doing that is because of the lack of new signings. They are having to dig deep into the gimmicks well in order to find stuff to release, thus why we are seeing so many figures of niche or obscure characters that likely only appeal to hardcore collectors. They are doing the best they can with what they have to work with, I'll give them that but at the end of the day people want more new names in the line. At some point many collectors will lose interest (we may already be reaching that point) if its just figures of the same wrestlers over and over again.

That legend set with Angle Muta Carlito Godfather Has to be one of the best Bonus points if they make angle or carlito the chase but knowing bill itβs gonna be Muta π Your probably right, but I was thinking it would be Godfather - that color pattern seems a little odd. And he had so many different colors.  Surprised theyβve not done him in rtc gear as the chase. |

I'm not that up to speed on "modern" Muta.... but what/when is this look from?  His match with Nakamura last year. Iβm surprised they were able to do it, since itβs a NOAH attire, but I guess WWE has a working relationship with them which allows it. Also interesting.... Can you think of another Legends Release that depicted the MODERN appearance of the wrestler (like within the last year or two)? Only other one I can think of is Ultimate Warrior "Final RAW Before Death" Legend..... |

That would require a whole different top and a different head, so couldnβt be the chase. I hope they do it eventually though. |

According to Major Figures, Angle, Carlito and Godfather are a wave. Muta and Billy Gunn are in the next.
So if they're still four figure waves, we have three more slots to fill. Hopefully they're FTITL.

Lack of new names is not a new issue. It's been that way for years and years. At this point it's probably been a problem for as many years as it *wasn't* a problem. Wrestling is as hot as it's been in decades right now, it's a safe bet that is attracting new or lapsed collectors back. They keep adding re-release lines, so clearly there's a market. I want new names too - but it is what it is. The number of people who will truly stop collecting because we aren't getting Glacier or Hercules isn't large enough for WWE or Mattel to change the way they're doing business. |
