Why did they leave?
They made it a little over 2 years
I know after they lost the tag titles they really didn't do anything special with them
Was Vince just done with them? Were they unhappy

The writing was on the wall when they got snubbed in facing Money Inc at WM 9 in favor of Hogan/Beefcake

I think they were just in that wave of big names from the end of the Hulkamania era that were getting phased out at dawn of the New Generation as the company was struggling financially and seeking new direction.
Jake, Warrior, Bulldog, Hercules, Bossman, Duggan, Earthquake, Typhoon, Hawk, Animal, Neidhart, Tito, Koko, etc. You even had guys like Heenan, Okerlund and Mooney leaving. The turnover was unreal in 1993.
Always felt that the Nasty Boyz really got the raw end of the deal at WrestleMania IX. They were over pretty good as babyfaces and a tag title match against Money Inc. - who they had been feuding with for a while - seemed inevitable until Hulk decided to come back.

In 1992 when LOD had to be stripped of the gold & Hawk was suspended The Nastys should have been turned baby to feud with Money Inc NOT the Natural Disasters.
They were a much better fit all round for the feud. Like htf do you get sympathy on Earthquake & Typhoon? They were terrible as face champs.
Nastys should have had that spot all day every day.

I loved their run in 1991, the stuff with the Hart Foundation and then the stuff they did with the Legion of Doom was awesome.
I never liked them as faces, but JokerFC made a fantastic point that they were a much, much better choice than The Natural Disasters as the new face tag team champions!

The Nasty Boys face turn seemed like another Tag Title reign was in their future, but here comes Hogan and Beefcake!
The last match they had on TV was a six man tag with Kamala losing to Money Inc. and Mr. Hughes on Superstars.
The face turn in 1993 got over looked as 1993 went on with the Steiners there, Smoking Gunns debuting, and Men On A Mission coming in. If anything, Nasty Boys would have had to turn heel again to feud with the likes of those teams to really stay in the company at the time.
Instead, they went to WCW as heels and became the number 1 tag team in late 1993 all the way through 1994.

The endless involvement of Jimmy Hart with so many tag teams in 1991-2 just made so many of them "meh" and made so many of them all blend into one. I've never understood why DiBiase supposedly needed a manager to talk for him and then Hulk & Beefcake later as well - all wrestlers who were always strong on the mic. As for the Nastys specifically, I'd have rather Power & Glory had been used to take the belts off the Hart Foundation in all honesty. A no-holds barred match with LOD and Power & Glory at Summerslam would've been more authentic imo. The Nastys had a little too much of Vince's cartoonish aspect about them to really be credible champions after you've just had the Brain Busters, Demolition and the Harts. I don't know if it was the Nastys being on good terms with Hogan (see also Fred Ottman) or the belts had been promised to them to help make them jump over from WCW, but it felt like they got into that title shot position at WM7 too fast.
For me, the Nastys were a serviceable heel team in the context of 1990/91, who probably did fit well with Jimmy Hart, but the division wasn't very well rounded with strong face teams once they lost the Harts and Rockers within 8 months of one another and then came the Rocco disaster to really kill things.... in hindsight, they may could have tried using the Beverlys as a new face team (with a totally different gimmick) to give the division more balance in 1992 and avoid the endless to-ing and fro-ing. Had the Nastys actually stayed true to their character as heels they might have justifiably become one of the top contenders to the belts in the shallower waters of 1993 once the Steiners won the belts but the ship had long sailed.

If I recall in interviews, they were a bit of a handful on the road, they got suspended in April of 93, due to their behavior on the road, they got brought back essentially for one tour in May, but Vince was already done with them.

There is a story that Brutus Beefcake told that the WWF were on tour somewhere and Savage was so outraged by the fart that he sent Elizabeth home. Vince wanted her to continue the tour so had to fly her back to where they were touring and the Nasty who farted had to pay the travel cost to get her back.

While Shamrock did apparently confront them, I think he was the one who ended up getting the real beating and almost thrown off the balcony, it was 2 against 1 after all, and this wasn't the later MMA specialist Shamrock.
