Ringside has this pre order listed as a WrestleMania 3 Hogan. The Ultimate Hogan from before was of course from WrestleMania 1.
Is it possible with the tweaks and updates they have done with other Best Of figures, this might be the Ultimate Series 13 with a yellow shirt and the 86 belt?

I don't know but the toy world was set ablaze with talk and anticpation when Mattel dropped this news out of nowhere a few days ago. It's one of the most anticpated Ultimates of all time and people want to see pics and how it fits with the best of narrative. Mattel should show off this figure as soon as possible.

With how they have explained how their Greatest Hits works and what they’re allowed to change and what they can’t do then it doesn’t seem like converting WM1 Hogan to WM3 is possible. That being said, they have said many things in the past that turned out to not be accurate so who knows.

I'm guessing the only change here would be the accessories. Yellow "Hulkamania" shirt instead of red, 1987 WWF title belt instead of 1985, and different headband. Everything else will probably be the same (figure itself, as well as the head and hands accessories). Though, they could swap out one of the extra heads and include the one with the bandana in his mouth:

They are existing parts. the nWo Hogan was rereleased with a brand new tan and pinless arms, so they do make decent updates. I guess we will see!

I'm okay with all of it - but I don't understand the logic of calling it a "Greatest Hits" when it's really a new offering?
Because a Wrestlemania 3 Hulk Hogan is not a Wrestlemania 1 Hulk Hogan, even if they do use the same figure-parts (but with different accessories).
Not complaining, just trying to understand.

Especially considering Steve has said numerous times there’s only so much they can do with making changes in the GH line. Like Batista was just a repaint so that’s fine. Anything else woulda made it a completely new figure which they can’t do.

Anything else woulda made it a completely new figure which they can’t do. One example of some changes can be seen within the Greatest Hits line is the recent Hogan that was based on the Survivor Series Hulk. The GH Hulk had a different head than SS Hogan (not a new sculpt, but one from Ultimate 13 Hogan), plus a new headband. The headband was a different, brighter red than the more maroon headband that came with a Basic figure. In this case, they should have kept the headband from the Survivor Series. The SS headband looks much more authentic. No matter what, WM3 Hogan needs the three differences (yellow cloth shirt, 86/87 belt, and torn shirt headband) to make it really worthwhile.

As a guy that is not particularly a Hogan guy, I'm not a stickler for the intricacies of his various red/yellow attires, so idk if there is something I'm missing here. However, I think an awesome way to do a "Best of" Ultimate in this case is to give us a straight re-release of the WM1 Hogan, and just throw in the yellow shirt/bandana and the second belt...
I feel like the complete re-use of the WM1 figure would hopefully drive price down enough that an additional shirt/bandana and belt wouldn't break the budget.
(This is obviously not happening)

It’s an odd marketing decision but hey a few people are happy so that’s good. I don’t imagine this sells a crazy amount as recently Hogan figures have been warming but it is arguably his biggest match so that might help.
They honestly should have rereleased Andre with him, not Seth.

Hoping the next UE Andre that’s not CC is blue singlet with the alt heads being the butterfly looking face paint and the red white and blue face paint.

Haven't finished reading the thread but some great points. The figure that I have been waiting for - to be specific since the week after Summerslam 2021. That's when the Hulk Hogan Survivor Series elite was delivered. And as soon as I got it, I had that feeling for more Hogan figures. Then at the same time Vince McMahon Wrestlemania III was revealed at the SDCC that year and the wheels started turning. I wanted a Hulk Hogan Ultimate Edition to put next to Vince McMahon Build A Figure. I then started drawing up some face scan ideas from that backstage Hulk Hogan/McMahon interview at Wrestlemania III. The creative juices were flowing. My idea for his face scan was a more frowning face.
It's great to get excited about seeing the finished product of a figure that I have wanted for a few years. To me the accessory I have anticipated the most - that Hulkamania yellow soft goods shirt. But equally important to me - the updated, improved bronze tan. As MK Savage said I would definitely prefer a headband in the mouth face scan. The version of the WWE title has already been done but it's less important to me to be included.
I don't know though. I have been excited about figures before - specifically that Ultimate Warrior Wrestlemania VI UE, I thought he would have soft goods boot tassels, blonde highlights in his hair and a better face scan without facepaint. So I think they will do something that will make this figure come up short in our expectations. Sometimes they condition us to be sceptical.

Well it sounds too good to be true to be the White vest American Made, improved tan Hulk Hogan that we have all been asking for. And let's be honest, they like to tick us off - some of us got that TNFT set just for the 1984 Green Belt Hogan. And some of us got that Hulkamania three pack set for the 1986 Hulk Hogan with the headband in mouth Headscan. So I think it's going to be one of those two.

Oh mercy, I hope it’s not one of those two. Neither of those would sell anywhere close to the American Made gear. I guess there’s an outside chance for Mr. America with the new torso and tan. But white shirt American Made is my top choice.

I already have my WM3 Hulkster with the appropriate belt and torn shirt headband and yellow HULKAMANIA shirt, and it looks great. But it’s the plastic yellow shirt from the Defining Moments figure. It looks great posed with him tearing the shirt, but any other way apart from the tearing pose makes it look more like a vest. A cloth shirt will be so much better. And Mattel already has one made, I think. In the original pics of the 40th Anniversary of HULKAMANIA box set, one of the shirts was a yellow cloth HULKAMANIA shirt. In any event, I’m pumped for this figure… As long as something totally screwy doesn’t happen. Oh great. I may have just jinxed it.

Mattel is oversaturating their own market and we're gonna hit Jakks BCA Peg Warmer territory on some of this stuff
That Hogan went on Clearance at Target and was part of the reason why Target stopped carrying the mainline ultimate series, I'm pretty sure at one point it was like $11 on Ringside. Nobody asked for it to be re-released and nobody needs it to be re-released.
