wrestling.insidepulse.com/art...last-show.htmlIan gave a speech to the crowd thanking Danny Trahan for all the hard work and Jim Fannin for all the loyalty and Mickie Knuckles for being a treasure and Phyllis Hickey for all that she had done for the company. He then addressed the very real possibility that IWA Mid-South will be closing its doors on December 7th. The debts have gotten too great for both Ian and Jim to be able to continue and in all likelihood, barring a complete change of heart and reversal of fortune, December 7th will be the end of the road for IWA Mid-South.. Directly from IWA MS forums, as I just copied.
They took out likely.

It will be a sad day when/if IWA MS closes. Well In the end I really don't want to see Ian and the others suffer in debt. And I was planning on going to KOTDM next year, roar.

Ian ran IWA into the ground. All the money mistakes just caught up with him.

Wait...what the ? If this is true this sucks so much! do you just not read your aim any more I think he has the right to do whatever he wants with IWA, considering he made it. Without Ian, there'd be no IWA. Plus, how can you really blame the "money mistakes" on him? You do know what the "money mistakes" were, don't you? He got swindled by the people in Oolitic into replacing a gym floor that was "damaged" back in 2004 and they just got around to suing him. he had a check for $5000 from someone who was going to get trained to wrestle bounce, and he had to pay all the bounced check fees, and as well as a couple of other things. Poor attendance on this year's TPI with as many fly ins as there surely didn't help matters any, either.

I guess it wouldn't be the holiday season without IWA-MS "likely to close it's door on -insert date here- unless so and so happens". I mean I hate to be cynical, but like, he says this every year. The day IWA-MS actually closes due to financial reasons will be the day Chinese Democracy, Only Built 4 Cuban Lynx 2, and the two disc Kill Bill special edition DVD set come out. Which should coincide with pigs flying and Jesus Christ arriving at the final hour.
Which if you're mayan would be December 21st of 2012... so I guess we have a ways to go..

I still don't understand why everyone he making excuses for Ian. Some of you are really blind if you think that Ian is not at fault for this. Booking the TPI around TNA guys was a mistake. Running shows in front of 80 people outside is a mistake. Changing almost the entire Point Proven card only three days before the show was a mistake.

I still don't understand why everyone he making excuses for Ian. God forbid.. someone sticks up for someone who is always getting crapon by a bunch of net marks with nothing better to do.. I haven't made any excuses at all.. just passing along what would you rather him not changed anything, and just ran the show with people he knew weren't going to be there? who booked the TPI around TNA guys? the only TNA guys announced were Low Ki and Samoa Joe, who were facing each other, meaning the absolute maximum for TNA guys in round 2 is 1. If you look at the TPI.. it's booked around Quack.. and the last time I checked, Quack isn't a TNA guy.. Ki and Joe were both removed from the TPI well ahead of the show and it was made extremely clear neither would be there. The market had been extremely profitable in the past (Clarksville, Charlestown, etc). Why is it so foolish to think that said market could be successful again?

When the TPI was announced Joe/Ki was used to sell tickets. As someone who was at the Point Proven show I do believe Ian lied to sell tickets.

Ian announced a bunch of big matches to draw in a region that he does not run normally. He then changed just about every match almost before the show. To me that looks like he made some promises he knew he couldn't keep to sell tickets.

You're a waste of oxygen. because someone cancels a show because they are double (or triple in some cases) booked is the booker's fault? Or someone being stuck in another continent?

Am I was waste of oxygen because I don't feel sorry for Ian. Ian knows what he did and why this is happening. I will make one more comparision for all you IWA marks. As bad as CZW is they will make it to 2008. The same can't be said for IWA.

This is just great. Where the am I supposed to see my favorite Indy wrestlers like JC Bailey, Chuck Taylor, and CJ Otis? I live in Illinois, I dont feel like traveling to Phili for a Chikara show. This sucks honestly, I loved IWA-MS to the death.
