I know for a fact that in the past they've lost lots of money on show's that didn't draw well which put them in debt. So long as no one think's Ian's rollin around in a Cadillac somewhere. You can't ing fly in 20 guys for the TPI and only have 200 fans and expect to make money. I'm sure they are in debt, but they were not going out of business. Ian pulls this **** every six months and you all believe in. April 2008 is my prediction for the next IWA:MS is closing thread on their message board. Any other takers? Nah.....I'll go with Summer 2008.

That's great news... thankfully, all those talentless, deathmatch 'wrestlers', will still be able to mutilate and scar themselves for life, for the benefit of the 30 people in attendance... coming from someone with a namesake of CM Punk and two pictures of CM Punk in their sig.. that's really funny.. you do realize where Punk came up, before there even was an ROH, right? That still doesn't mean that... 1. IWA-MS has changed over the years. 2. The death match guys still have no talent. So what if he likes CM Punk and hates IWA-MS? Hero is one of my favorite wrestlers but I think that IWA-MS and CZW suck.

Hero is one of my favorite wrestlers but I think that IWA-MS and CZW suck. CZW does suck. But IWA:MS continues to put on great shows with great talent. I disagree there. I think other than the TPI shows(though this years doesn't interest me) most of IWA-MS shows are one match shows. I'm not entertained by much of their local talent and all of their best matches come from guys who hardly work for the company. It's always Low Ki, Necro, Homicide, Hernandez, Hero & Kingston stealing the shows. None of which work there full time. IWA-MS will have a great match like let's say Ki/Hernandez but what about the rest of the show? Plus now IWA can't even afford to use these guys so that's gonna hurt matters worse. I never was and never will be a death match fan and that's what IWA-MS does a lot of. Death matches don't interest me. Not in America anyway because it's all drug addicts who can't work. The only death match guy I like is Necro Butcher. I don't even see the hype for Drake Younger. He's really not that good either. He's not terrible like others but he's nothing great. Plus Quack is their champion and it's kind of stupid that he won't even be on a show until December. How does that make the promotion look? Plus I doubt he sticks around long as he's got other things to worry about. IWA-MS is all about trying to get the top talent they can, most of which they can't afford. There's no storys around most of their matches because most of the good talent that put on the best matches hardly ever work for the promotion.

And I agree I dont care for the deathmatch stuff either. Not my cup of tea. But Drake can work other types of matches. Diehard is good too. They have been booking Devon Moore from PWU fame and he is a damn good worker as well. I think Ian will still book guys like Ki, Cide, Hero, Kingston, etc. There is no way they are gonna be able to use just CJ Otis, Mickie Knuckles, Ian, etc. They will definitely need to continue to reach out. And I think they will do that. While most of their matches do lack and main story.......there is still a subtle story to be told. Like TPI this year and Mike Quackenbush's undying desire to win it. To overcome trajedgy and triumph in TPI is huge. And speaking of Quack, I dont know how long he will hold the titles......but I do know that Quack has been very loyal to IWA:MS and will continue to work their shows. Quack does have a very busy schedule with Chikara, NWA Junior Heavyweight, working Michinoku for the first time, European commitments, local shows like PWE he does, and now IWA:MS championships.......but he has been a steadfast of IWA for sometime now. I dont see that changing.

I don't believe Ian does this on purpose. Honestly now, what promotion wants to have to come forward admitting debts owed and possible closure. However Im not saying hes a great business man either.

Out of curiousity, what promotion did Punk originally start in? as a mainstay? for more then 2-3 matches? Im not sure who the first was. I recall a story from MAW promoter Carmine that Punk and Cabana had been bugging him to use them, but Carmine told them to get trained at the Steel Domain. After training for a while they eventually broke in with MAW in Milwaukee, SDW in Saint Paul MN, and IWA MS. All years before ROH was even a thought.

The thing I like about IWA is that it has whatever kind of wrestling you want, me I am a deathmatch fan, so Thats where I can see that, but there are many IWA fans who are not deathmatch fans. It has everything.

It has everything. Exactly. CZW had that too for a while. You got a little bit of everything. My gripe about ROH was they were usually very serious wrestling based. No hardcore, no comedy. Granted things changed a bit. But IWA MS has always offered a little bit of everything.

The first major indy promotion that Punk worked was Steel City Wrestling. I actually have a few of his matches from this time. He then went on to Chikara with Colt and formed The Gold Bond Mafia teaming with Chris Hero and feuding with The Black T Shirt Squad in the early days of Chikara. Punk was also working MAW and soon IWA:MS. So Wiki is pretty damn on with this historical timeline. And yes.....all of this was way before ROH. Punk even worked CZW once........but hated it and never returned. Gee.....wonder why?

I'm still waiting for IWA to come back to Philly and but on a real IWA show as Ian put it. I have no idea what he means by this though. If a real IWA show doesn't involve guys like Hero, Claudio, Necro, or Ki I don't think I want to see it.
