Hey all
As you all may or may not know the fed I ref for / help out Platinum Pro Wrestling is having a show on Friday, but our work is never done, so I'm asking you the Indy wrestling fans on my favorite forum to help me decide who the top 20 guys are right now in Indy wrestling (as far as guys you would pay to see not so much work rate and such) or what matches you would like to see.

In terms of top guys I would pay to see, off the top of my head are
Bryan Danielson
Chris Hero
Claudio Castagnoli
Mike Quackenbush
El Generico
Eddie Kingston
The Briscoe Brothers
Jimmy Jacobs
Necro Butcher
Larry Sweeney
Delirious
Adam Pearce(so fuggin underrated)
they aren't in any particular order, but I know they'd definitely help persuade me to go to a show. hope I helped at all
also, just looking at the card from your last show, I'd definitely say you should keep booking Abercrombie

Pretty much though all of those guys are in Ring of Honor which obviously has some of the top indy talent but at the same time there are others who I think should get a shot as well. But as far as drawing power you def should look at the guys in ROH or CZW who really have a lot of drawing power. CHIKARA to a lesser extent also is a fed I watch that draws some good people. I believe that APW and PWG also book some of the best talent on the west coast.

Im more or less looking for guys i can put on a flyer for are shows that would make a indy wrestling fan go "wow I need to go check this out" or "Thats something I havent seen before we should go"

Ruckus vs Low Ki would def put some butts in the seats.

PAC, Azrieal, Davey Richards. and basically everyone listed.
people pay to see Sabu. get Corino before he retires. if you can get japanese indy talent, try to bring in Jaki Numazawa from big japan or Tiger's Mask from osaka pro.
people also pay to see Teddy Hart, but i know most promoters dont like to hire him. Ruckus and Jack Evans as a tag team is great too.
if the promotion has money bring guys up from mexico, just know that you cant have CMLL and AAA guys on the same show.

Most of the names i see listed are all that smarks would pay to see, yet not too many of them are out there in broad view. Honestly go with someone like Honkytonk Man, Heidenriech or someone with plenty of WWE experience. Hell Brutus Beefcake is a draw believe it or not. You want to appeal to the casual fan more then anyone.

Id try out brining in a former WWE star, a decent one who people know, and see how it works out. Because different areas, have different crowds.

Yeah it draws in areas where there established, this is Indianna though and ROH or any of them are not well established there. Indiana Kentucky so on and so on is known for it's wrestling history, i guarentee to this day that Tracy Smothers would outdraw any smark choice in that area. Honky is one hell of a worker and is the type of booking that would bring in old school fans who dont watch anymore but don't mind a taste of nostalgia. Best bet is bring in Demolition i think who just had there first match togethor since 90something. The old school stuff will outdraw the new indies right now. |
