I cannot run the ball online for shit, passing I can do alright until my opponent realizes thats as far as my ability goes and shuts me down.

I started with Smith, I do great on single player, but on multiplayer I might break one tackle and get taken down. |

Just look for the holes then. Try and stick behind one of your blockers until you see an opening and just gun it. Keep A held down incase you run into someone, then just press Y and you should be able to bust right through them.

I always thought you held A down for power backs, and mashed it for smaller Warrick Dunn type guys. But what do I know I get raped by the Tampa Bay Top Guns. :XXXXX

Rapidly tap A to sprint. Hold it down to build up a charge to make your forearm, shoulder, juke, etc...more effective.

Can you use the charge to make your guy sprint faster, like hold it until you need the speed boost release and start tapping, or will that do nothing?

Damn, I just got killed. In my season, I was 6-0. So I played the Werewolves, and I lost 6-17. Their D-Line is just impossible to get past. Plus, they have Night Train Lane, so he was stopping every pass I tried throwing to my guy Maynard. I guess the "Double One Three Combo" wasn't enough this time.

Wow, when I got APF, I remember thinking about Online, and how much better it would be without cheesers taking the Pats or Falcons. Well, EVERYONE online has  ing Jerry Rice and Randall Cunningham. What do they do? They either ing bomb it, or run with Randall every ing play. First quarter, fourth down and ten yards to go? Bomb it. Seriously, I ing hate cheesers so God damned bad. [/rant] |

God I need to get a next gen system just so I can have this game. I've always loved 2K over Madden, and I'm glad some around here have noticed how lame and cheap Madden is with its updates and stuff like that. They've had the same game for the past 3 years.

Damn, I was having a great game online, back and forth. All of a sudden something happened to my remote, the right trigger jammed causing me to be constantly juking and I couldn't use any of my face buttons.

It took 2k long enough to make a game. I wanted them to make a game like this for a while since I can't stand Madden. I rented it as I can't justify spending $60 on a sports game without a franchise mode, as it is my main function in sports games.

However, the gameplay is just so much fun, I can honestly see myself being content playing random exhibition games with the CPU. Outside of online that is. |

APF is easily the most fun I've had in a football game since 2K5. Even with it being pretty plain, its a damn good foundation to build on. Not to mention the announce team beats the pants off Madden.
I also love the subtle jokes everywhere, from the player names to the teams and stadiums (Wolfram and Hart!)
Its only real flaw is, as some people know already, the ability to cheese. Since all you use are legends and classic players, there are some sweet spot combos that can be exploited. And unlike Madden, where people will stick with teams over players, APF has a much more "whatever you need to do to win" setup.
