OK now that ROH is getting into the PPV game, and their PPV will soon be debuting on Time Warner cable this month (7/20), I'd like to talk about how ROH is getting the word out on Respect Is Earned and their future PPV's.
Right now, I think the advertising could be better. I had to search long and hard to find if I was getting the ROH PPV where I was, when, and for how much. I mean for Time Warner subscribers it's $14.95.
But outside of ROH's own website, I'm not seeing any push for it really. And I think that's a bad idea.
I know ROH probably doesn't want to spend a lot of money on these and keep costs down, but if they want more people to buy these, then more people who haven't seen ROH before need to know where it is and how to watch it. That means buying ad space during shows watched by ROH's key age demographics. During UFC on SpikeTV. Adult Swim on cartoon network. Ani-Mondays on Sci-Fi.
They should be buying ads in Maxim and Wizard magazine. Places like that.
Basically what I'm saying is that the advertising for ROH PPV's need to ---
MAN UP!

Yes I mean what's the point of being on PPV, and wanting to reach out to the new audiences, when word of mouth is coming from your core audience and no where else.
What was the point of that little video we seen some time back, did Gabe forget to mail that in to the cable providers?

The only advertising I have seen has been at the ROH shows themselves. ROH should run some advertisements during Raw or ECW.

Oh and just to point out, I'm seeing absolutely NO advertisements anywhere on Time Warner cable or any of my cable channels.
This is troubling to me.
There is no point at all in doing these shows if they are only reaching to the core ROH fanbase.
And that means they have to be prepared to SPEND SOME MONEY. And perhaps even lose some money if a little.
