ROH in Japan Results 7-17-07

I am back from Japan and now very well rested. I will post a rundown of the Osaka show since people seem to be requesting it now. In the next day or two I will post an entire diary of the Japan trip. It was an incredible trip. I want to thank all of you because it is only with your support that we were able to go to Japan. I hope the two DVDs from these shows, which will be great DVDs IMO, will be a suitable reward. Thank you, Gabe

1) Jimmy Rave vs. Bryan Danielson was about to start when CIMA came out to welcome ROH to Osaka. The No Remorse Corps of Roderick Strong, Davey Richards & Rocky Romero jumped CIMA. Rave went to the floor with his Dragon Gate tag team partner and second Genki Horiguchi. Danielson opted to try to make the save for CIMA, since CIMA had shown ROH respect with the welcome. NRC overpowered Danielson until Naomichi Marufuji made the save and the NRC powdered. Danielson then said that CIMA was the best from Dragon Gate, Marufuji was the best from NOAH and he was the best from ROH. Danielson said the three company aces should team up to take on the NRC in the main event. All three men shook hands and agreed. The Japanese fans gave a big pop when CIMA and Marufuji shook hands. Only ROH could put together a team like this.

After everyone left, Jimmy Rave got back into the ring and said he didn't come to Osaka not to have a match. Rave challenged anyone in the back. ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe came to the ring and said they would defend the belts twice tonight. Briscoes challenged Rave & Horiguchi to take the match.

The Briscoes defeated Rave & Horiguchi to retain the ROH World Tag Team Titles in a hot opener.

2) Nigel McGuinness defeated BJ Whitmer in a bout that had the Osaka fans "ohing" and "ahing" at the hard-hitting moves.

3) Jack Evans came out and said that Roderick Strong can't sneak out of his scheduled match vs. Evans. Evans then challenged Strong to face him in a No DQ bout. Strong came out with Maasaki Mochizuki. Strong said Mochizuki was an honory member of the NRC and would take his place in the main event six man. Strong hit the ring and the match began.

Evans defeated Strong in a wild No DQ bout that really had the fans going.

4) Matt Sydal, Ryo Saito & Dragon Kid defeated Delirious, Masato Yoshio & Naruki Doi in an fast-paced match that was as good as any Dragon Gate six man in ROH history.

5) Jay & Mark Briscoe defeated Shingo & Susumu Yokosuka in their second defense of the ROH World Tag Team Titles of the night in another great match. The Briscoes proved why they are the best tag team in the world in Japan.

6) The dream team of company aces of CIMA, Marufuji & Danielson defeated Romero, Richards & Mochizuki in a classic main event.

ROH would like to thank all the fans of Osaka for being a tremendous crowd. ROH fans from all over the world will be very happy with this DVD.
